Annoying Buzzer...
#1
Hi,
Does anyone else get really annoyed with the buzzer going off when the keys are in the ignition and the door is open...!!!
It really does drives me wild...
Is the there any way i can disconnect it...it's the black rubber coated switch on the piller between the two doors (Don't know the proper name)...
I don't really want to just cut the wire as i dont know if the alarm is hooked up to it, i have a after market Toad alarm...
Has anyone ever disconncted one...
Cheers,
G.

Usually these things buzz when the circuit is broken, i.e. the plunger pops out. Super glueing is a bit drastic, but if you can get the switch out and check if no buzz = circuit open or closed, you can just unclip the wires and leave them off or connect them. The downside is if it is wired in to the alarm and that door is opened, the alarm won't go off. You should be able to test this pretty easily.
Failing that it is track the buzzer down and rip its little heart out!!

I dont know where the buzzer itself is (I tried to find it head under the dash board but it is rather elusive) BUT I went to see len at Subaru4you (for a service) and he asked me if it anoyed me I said yes and quick as a flash his hand went under the steering wheel (behind the dash) and in a couple of seconds the buzzer was no more so you just got to find the right connector
if you need help finding it sujest you call Len and ask nicely
