Newcomer with a (hopefully) interesting question........

Hello everyone!
After a long time looking around for a quality performance car and test driving a few (Celica TSport, Civic Type-R, RX8 and WRX), I finally got my wallet out and took the plunge.
I've had my new WRX for a whole 7 days now and I'm massively impressed (even running it in), but that would be hardly suprising knowing what it had replaced. Which brings me to the question, what is the biggest increase in performance you've ever had?
I'll get the ball rolling, I replaced a 7 year old Fiat Punto 55S (yup that's 55bhp) with an Impreza WRX with over 4 times that!
As a quick additional tip, how do you get the smug grin off your face?

You should add power to weight to your calculations as I have gone from 250 bhp to 130 bhp but have a faster car to 60. And I get decent fuel economy

I used to swap from a 95BHP/Tonne Impreza Sport to a 470BHP/tonne Westfield every weekend. That kind of wakes you up.
Power isnt really the important thing, its power/weight and also the all round ability of the car that matters.

Cheating a bit I know, but I drove a 600BHP Tyrell Formula 1 car round Mallory Park in August, after that, nothing else seems quick, even my bike seems tame by comparison!

Is a Scooby as quick as an RGV? I think it's somewhere near. Had a bit of ablast in the scooby against an NC30 the other week (had one of those too) and it was very close. Very surprising to see how fast a bike is in the corners too, compared to a car. It never feels that fast to me on a bike,. Agreed though RGVs, were one of the best road bikes ever made imo. Fun and giggles all the way.

Know what you mean GAV 888. Had many a superbike since the RGVs, NC30 etc, never had as much fun. Bunch of mates, all with screeming strokers, Rainey and Shwantz at it on the track, us lot barely surviving our absolutely crazy weekend outings in North Wales, without a care in the world. Good memories.

Chimp-choker .....what a name LOL!! Class.
Err... I had a Lotus Carlton and went to my scoob - dropped approx 150bhp, but gained and extra 2 wheels with drive and an empty bank balance. But hey, thats what its all about when you hit the laughing pedal.

If its road cars then certainly from a Vectra 2.5 CDX to my STI was an amazing difference and yes I know about the smug grin!.
The best road performer I had was my ZX12R, the acceleration was truly astounding.
No need to say enjoy yours, you certainly will.
