Does the PPP give a better exhaust noise over standard exhaust + Prodrive BB as well as obvious better performance ?

Am thinking about it (Opelcorsa) but want more of that Scooby burble?

Cheers,

Steve

Slightly, but nothing worth writing home about (sti8)... same could be said about performance gains.

Steveo

I would diagree - i have recently had my sti7 ppp'ed and the difference is great. The exhaust sounds much better, although mostly when the car is going. At tickover it sounds a litle noisier but nothing huge, its wehn you are accelerating that it sounds at its best. As for performance i find the car a. easier to live with in traffic, and b. much more responsive in lower revs, plus the power keeps on going for allot longer. I would say go for the ppp it is great IMHO.

Thumbs up

I have PPP on my STi8, and prev had a non-PPP sti7. The difference is certainly noticeable, the exhaust will pop occasionally, especially on a cold morning after a spirited drive

The noise is very noticeable on acceleration, but not intrusive in the cabin.

Can't comment on the WRX though.

Got the 8 with a PPP backbox, sounded much better than the standard zorst, now I've just de-catted the downpipe and things are getting there.... my mate can hear me start up from [b]inside his office block 100 yards away..

Cool

If you think a PPP car is quiet, just wind down the rear windows while you're driving it

I take it you have a WRX then, not a Turbo (93-00)?

Richard

[Edited because I meant PPP car, not non-PPP car! Non-PPP car is far too quiet ]

Best thing to do is scrap the centre section and replace it with one without the resonator that slows the gases down and cuts the noise out.

You also gain more from the system then...

Yes Re-bitten Hero .. MY03 WRX Wagon .

My baby IS only 3 months old but just want THAT LITTLE BIT MORE noise and *cough* power

Thanks everybody for your opinions , keep then comin' !

P.S. Wonder how santa will manage to fit new exhaust sections down our chimney , fit them ( I keep keys with me at all times ) and reprogram the ECU without me knowing ? .. esp. since I don't have a chimney !

P.P.S. Do you think he'll pay for my hike in insurance premium as well if I'm a good boy ?

Stevo my WRX 03 is much faster with PPP and sounds alot different from outside the car - I get loads of comments. The car pulls alot harder from lower down the revs so it feels much more responsive. look at Prodrive info and see the difference in the toque and bhp curves and the acceleration differences in all the gears from various speeds.

Well worth it in my opinion mate and the warranty is still intact

On 03 WRX, PPP is much faster with a much loader exhaust. If anything a touch embarrassing when you idle around town or overtake someone!

If you put PPP on an STi8 does it significantly increase the db level?

It's a very well made box is the Prodrive with a great exhaust note and of course keeps the warrenty, I've got a spare one sat in the garage gathering dust as I replaced it with a firestorm because I wanted a tad more burble, the firestorm however comes at a cost, if i'm late for work then everyone in the office knows i'm late for work. Also I keep on setting car alarms of which does not go down well with the neighborhood.
Overall I fully recomend the prodrive as the firestorm is a bit too extream, but i'm keeping it

Maddy
