Question

Ok peeps, need some feedback...

Situation I will be in shortly....

Sunday night, commute down to East Grinstead from Bedford to spend the week in company provided shared accommodation, to commute back up to Bedford on a Friday night.

My couple month old STi8 PPP PHP sits in Bedford during the week collecting dust, so I would get to use it a few hours tops during the odd weekend I am not working on my house extension.

I would be taking my Fiesta Zetec S down to East Grinstead as it would have to stay parked up outside the shared accommodation during the weekdays, and we (3 of us) would be using a company car to get into the local offices in EG.

I think I would be asking for trouble leaving my STi parked up all week. Even with a cover I am thinking it would probably be dodgy.

So what should I do, swap them both in, get something half way sensible? Keep the scoob and gain like 1-2k miles a year (very expensive mileage)?

Options..

1) Keep scoob and leave in Bedford, take festa to EG
2) Take scoob down to EG and risk leaving it during the daytime for 4 days, keep festa for picking up flat packs and the like
3) Swap scoob and festa in for something more sensible
4) Find another job (might be a pain before xmas and new year)

Richie.

Richie,

TBH It depends on what area of Bedford you live in. I work in London everyday but I do travel home to Bedford every night. Unfortunately I don't have a garage or drive so my baby sits outside the house....altho I do have a psychotic GF

I take it you couldn't take the Scoob to EG then?

thats the problem, do i let my scoob sit in bedford in its garage all week, to be used infrequently if at all over the next few months on the weekend... or take it to EG and let it sit outside the rented house when there will be no one there during the days.

hmmm

Richie.

find a lock up near by?? Why not just risk it, it will loose shed loads if you get rid of it, so why not take the ridsk of having to spend that money on something happening to the car, but get the enjoyment from it. If you are working away from home you must get loads of spare time to go for a blast. I leave mine outside the house on the road every night, i have had a couple of small incidents from idiots, but the fun far out weighs this (£60 from chipsaway)

Option 5) Let fellow Bedfordian T4molie (Andy) put his MY02 WRX in your garage and I'll gladly keep your STi in Purrfect running order

Don't think I've seen you about Mind you having said that I tend to see more scoobs when I'm in the other half's MX-5 than when I'm in the Scoob.

1 day last week I drove from Bedford to Manchester and back and I saw a total of one Scoob and that was going in the oppo direction on the M1!!
