Question

Hello, I've been looking at getting an Impreza for a while but as always money was the problem. I own a Rover 620 ti (200bhp turbo, for those who don't know Rovers) so finding something faster and as well equipped. I’ve found a 98 Prodrive but I don’t know what it really worth or what power it puts out. Any one help? Also anyone know of someone looking for a 620ti?

I had a 620ti before my Scoob. The Rover has a nice interior, but just drive a Scoob and you'll realise how slow the Rover is..

Cheers,

If you could send the info to news4stuart@hotmail.com it'd be great. I'm waiting on getting accepted for the rovernet, hopefully today and then I’ll see if anyone interested. I got offered a £1K as a trade in, pretty poop for a car worth £20K new and 65K miles (1996). But it’s just in too good nick, I’d rather someone get it that’ll get some worth out of it and not just kill it or mod it stupidly. But your right the Scooby drives like nothing else I’ve ever driven. The driving position is spot on! That why I really want one, and the Prodrive is a bit different too, which I like.

Thumbs up

Thanks,

All good info. Does the Prodrive's extra power make much of a difference over the standard 215bhp?

Stuart,
In everyday use, overtaking etc. you use mid range Torque and not Bhp
They could take 20% Bhp off mine as long as they put 20% more Torque on PPP makes the car more drivable

With 2 cars the same weight one 200Bhp and 400lbs Torque would beat a 300 Bhp and 300 lbs Torque one.

IMHO, AFAIR, etc.etc

Tony

Not huge difference to absolute performance but a bigger diference in driveability through increased mid-range torque. Each gear pulls like the one below in the standard car is what people always say. Get it if you can, but don't pay big premium. The prodrive performance package is only £1600 fitted brand new these days.

Re-reading though if you have a full Prodrive car with interior, exterior styling mods plus suspension and the rest of it - then that is worth a good premium over a standard car I should say.

Thanks guys,

The one I'm looking at has the full pack; ECU, exhaust, suspension, brake pads, 17” alloys, quick-shift, leather, a/c and a compass thing in the centre consul. I’ve not driven it yet but I do feel it’s over priced compared to the standard turbo.

I’m looking for about £2500 for the Rover, I need to get a buyer so that I can go to the garage with a cash offer. That should get it down to a realistic price.
