Thought I would post this, as i nearly watched my car go BOOM.

I was staying at my girlfriends pad down in Oval, London over the weekend, we both were asleep on sunday night until about 3.45 am monday morn when I heard the loudest bang ever, we both leaped out of bed and looked out of the window to see this transit van engulfed in flames with my scoob parked right infront of it.

I didnt panic too much, apart from trying to get me pants on quickly. Called fire brigade (which arrived very promptly), dashed downstairs, picked up keys for car, and then went outside only to see this transit van in flames with tyres blowing out with the heat. As you can imagine much concern was felt with my car only being about 8ft away with the wind sending the flames downwind over the scoob. I didnt even attempt to move my car as heat would have been too much.

But, luckily no damage to car. Was a worrying moment though. We reckon some little tw@t had broken into van for tools and then set it alight or had tried to nick it as it sounded like engine was still running when it was on fire. The guy who owned the van was gutted as this was obviously his van for his own work.

Feckin inner London is full of this sort of ****e, one day it might be my car that goes up in smoke, costing thousands of £'s of damage and the problems asssociated with the rife crime down there. Where are the police??????

Signing out as I am now getting wound up!!!!

Check the pics:::::::::::::::::::

Glad to hear there was no damage to your car, surprised that the paint didn't blister.
Only a complete change in attitude by the courts and police will reverse this trend. Catch them young and scare the cra@p out of them.

You were lucky. This happened to my brother in law and his car was damaged by the heat, albeit minor.

The paint on the bumper blistered and the plastic bumper began to melt slightly.

His insurance claim went nowhere unfortunately and had to fork out for the damage himself.
