BP don't say it's 100 !!!
They say it's 100 in Greece but not in the UK.
They changed it's name from superplus because it is a different fuel completely. It just has the same RON value.

At least it's better than 95RON if you're stuck miles from a Shell garage!!

Optimax is noticeably better even in my Pug!!

A friend with an Audi S3 noticed that the BP stuff didn't perform as well as Optimax, and he's not really into tuning/performance!!

Has anyone heard what BP are claiming with respect to octane value?

When in France in the summer BP 'Evolution' (I think it was called was the best running fuel we could find) Noticeably smoother. Of course super sans plomb is plentiful in most of Europe.

Total SUL caused engine warning lights and was a lovely surprise at 3 am in the South of France :-/

I thought the same question.
Just done a 450 round mile trip. Up North on BP and back on Optimax.
Results?
I GAINED 8 mpg on Optimax and it ran so much better than on BP.
I even came back faster than i went up there!!!!!
That sums it up for me, as can only does 13 on a good day

BP oficially state it is 97-98RON, so you have to treat is as 97RON to be safe.

Ultimate is aimed at being a clean for the environment fuel, it is not designed to be a competitor to Optimax in terms of performance car useage.

Another for Optimax.

I dont see the point in paying 84.9 BPU over 80.9 for Optimax!

If you wish to get the details straight from the horses mouth...
you can email one of their customer advisers.
from the standard reply it seems that
Ultimate is guaranteed to be 97RON minimum.
The MON number is almost identical to Optimax ~87.x.
The fuel seems to be aimed at being more green whilst offering at least the same performance as their original SUL.
I had to use BP when i went down to cornwall for a few days , and i noticed no differences to optimax, other than the speed at which my wallet was emptied.

Cool

I have now used 6 tank loads of Ultimate ( with millars octane booster ) After the first 4 tank loads I would have told you that although there is no noticable increase in performance the engine was much smoother, however after 6 tank loads I'm going back to Optimax! Its cheaper and I got much better miles per gallon. My last 2 tanks got me 140 miles! Whilst I was getting a good 180 to 200 on Optimax?

It could all be in my tiny little balding swede, but I find I get more performance from Opti and a smoother ride with Ultimate...
As long as its 97+ da do ron ron ron I dont mind too much - but Opti will always be first choice...

My motor seems 2 run smoother on bp ultimate but i cant tell the difference in performance between that and optimax, tad expensive 4 a bp fill up though, and yep it does seem 2 burn quicker!
