Went for some test drives

One of my garages close to uni in Preston has 6 Evo 8 FQ300s, so I thought I would go see what they were like. The one I drove had the rally lowering kit on it. Was very precise, and the power was smooth, the gear ratios are really long compared to the scoob. Was really uncomfortable, and the interior is that out of a corsa. You can definately feel the road more, and I am very happy I went with the scoob now. Also whilst I was down there I took out an M3 with one of those tiptronic boxes. Weird thing you actually have to come of the accelerator to change up or down, but there isn't any clutch to psuh. So slow on the power delievery, but I have to say was very comfortable, but you would expect that. All in all the Evo is the fastest, but I reckon if you modify the Subaru, it would cost less overall, as the Evo fq300 is 29000 or so, just think of what you could do with that extra 5000 between sti and evo. I have and I should be running rally springs, and 330bhp at Xmas, already spent 2000 and I am running my STI8 at about 275, and have put in a 1000 pounds worth of ICE to boot, a far better option.

Guys,
Give Sti@21 a break! If you have been following his threads you will find 2 common things:
1) He nearly always gets slagged off because he is at Uni/21/etc.
2) He ends up having to explain that he was "lucky" in life and got left a bequest (I think, and assume it was because someone in his family died).
The point is this: the lad had the good sense to spend his money on a decent car and he is enjoying it. Just because we may not have had that opportunity at 21 doesn't mean we have to kill him every time he posts!
He is one of us, guys, as opposed to those bar stewards who vomit and urinate all over our cars, put screws in the sidewalls of our tyres, throw fireworks under our cars as they drive by in their sheds, etc, etc.
21, enjoy your car & keep posting!
Cheers

I wasn't putting him down, just havin' a laugh. I bought a new car when i was at uni and paid for it by working in my holidays and saving it to cover the repayments during term time, although it was only a w@nky 1.1 106
