don't know if this is a common problem. reverse and first seem to 'clunk' in and not as smooth as the other gears. it is only these gears as the others are fine. does it seem like clutch or is there any bushes os something that could be on the way out???????????

 

Sometimes I really have to force mine into 1st, but thats on my turbo2000 with short shift????

 

did you have this before fitting the short shift any clues on what it could be then anyone???

 

Are we talking when first getting into the car and starting from cold and selecting gear ?

I know my MY00 Turbo 2000 has this problem getting into 1st or Reverse after first starting. Once warmed up it's fine.

 

no its all the time but worse when cold :confused

 

Mine doesnt matter if its hot or cold.....

Cant really comment on what it was like before as it was fitted when I bought the car.

 

My 1st is OK, reverse ALWAYS crunches, 2nd feels like **** though.

 

hi there i got a 93 wrx and mine has always crunched into reverse and wen u floor it in 1sr gear 2nd always crunches too! its either snycro or gear selector.
Usual prob for scoobs ive heard and will only get worse but takes a while. I'm on the look out 4 sum 1 to fix me gearbox or get hold of a decent box like a quaiffe but i think there big money!
