cold starting
#1
Can anyone please advise on any tips for cold starting. My MY97 is normally fine, but last two mornings took a worrying amount of time/starts to get going. Battery fine etc. Not sure to use throttle at all? Cheers, Matti.

DON'T touch the throttle AT ALL from cold or you'll flood it.
You should be able to get in, switch on, w3ait until the fuel pump primes, (stops whirring) then start it.

PS: if you DO flood it, continue cranking it on the starter, while GENTLY pressing the pedal to the floor.

This is what i do
1. Place keys in ignition
2. Put foot on clutch and make sure car is out of gear
3. keep foot on clutch, turn keys until the accessories is on
$. wait a few seconds, turn key to start (keeping foot on clutch at all times).
5. car starts into life without any problems
