Been looking for the techie specs (bhp/torque figures, acceleration times, etc.)on PPP for MY01/02 but can only find a PDF file for the MY03. Don't suppose anyone can help me out .. ?
Also suggestions on how to conceal this purchase from 'er indoors would be greatly appreciated, the best excuse I can think of at the minute is 'there must be a hole in the exhaust'

245bhp / 261lbft

Doesnt really translate as well on paper as it does on the road... its a MASSIVE improvement (i had one of the first PPP's on the MY01). Transforms the car

£1600 well spent IMHO.

Is warrenty an issue by the way...? If not i'd recommend a different route for roughly the same money - full decat and Ecutek chip - supposedly a lot better but you'll lose the warrenty.

An MY02 at Well lane on Sunday ran 265 BHP with Ecutek and his front 2 cats still in place.
So no warrenty issues (non detectable software)and a mid section and Prodrive back box.
All done for £700 with more power and torque than the PPP at less than half the price, now what would you do ?

I thought the PPP on an '01 was actually really disappointing.
Hardly any noticable difference except for the noise, which there was lots of, so don't expect her to not notice.

Seemed a complete waste of £1600 to me, so didn't bother.

Now the '03 PPP, that's a different story....

I had (still have) a my01 UK300 which had the PPP fitted at first service. The people that say they can't notice any difference must have driven a bad example . In my opinion it transformed the car in to what it should have been standard. For overtaking each gear now gives that mid range power that before required a change down to third. Now I just leave it in 5th or if needed drop to 4th and squirt the pedal and the car seams to pass most stuff no problem.

I realise there are more powerful mods out there, but the whole dealer-approved thing plus the increase on the residuals tempted me. Plus I'm not too bothered about being the fastest car on the road, I just thought the std. WRX kinda ran out of puff on the motorway and just wanted to pep it up a little bit. It's on order anyway so its a done deal - well it arrived today (7 days delivery, not too bad I thought) and is due to be fitted next week when it goes in for a service so I guess I'll be finding out first hand soon !
Thanks for the replies/opinions !

The figures for 01/02WRX PPP are now basically the same as the 03WRX info you have already found as we now use the same tools to recalibrate the ECU.

My guess as to who would ask that question first was absolutely spot on!

We have no plans to offer an 'upgrade' to the latest spec as you already have as much torque but we have managed to hold a tiny bit more boost around max power, hence having similar figures to 03MY.
The area under the graph is similar and the graphs are almost identical up to just over 5500rpm.

Kingy71 : yes it will be Goldens fitting the kit, as they do all my servicing. I can highly recommend them, they've been great with me so far. Also some great roads up that way now they've moved to that swanky showroom

Mike - thanks for the extra info, I didn't realise the earlier PPP kits differed from the new ones. Even better !! So 265PS and 348Nm (whatever that is in 'old money') it is then

okey dokey.......
not wanting to spend 1600 squid on MY02 PPP - where can i get the ecutek and back box - and do i need other exhausty bits?
but stay within emissions limits aswell - is this possible?
thanks for any help
west yorkshire btw - b4 you send me to lands end

just rung local dealer if anyone is interested......
standard MY02 is 215bhp add PPP = 250bhp
equates to £100 per 1% of performance increase (should i be chuffed with that?)

I second Nigel's comments ... I have a MY01 UK300 PPP and it does pull strongly through the mid-range and charges harder towards the redline with no drop-off when compared to a standard MY01 WRX. I've only done 17k in mine and if my old MY99 and other scoobs are anything to go buy will keep loosening for quite a while yet

IMHO its money well spent as it gives the car the kind of power it deserves and doesn't invalidate the Subaru warranty. Each to their own and all that but seems a sensible option although the full decat and ECUTEK chip route gives ultimately more power / performance ...

Cheers
Phil
