don't go super chips.

best bet might be PPP (prodrive perfomance package)

this comprises remap ecu, exhaust and air filter i believe.

good for getting plenty more horse and also sounds nice with the exhaust on!

the shy is the limit quite frankly. lots and lots of ways to gain more power. depends how much you have to spend and how far you wanna go. try some searchs on various modifications eg: ppp, exhaust, chip, ecu etc to get a better over view. alot of it is down to personal choice.

happy modding

Personally superchips are a no go area for me.

A Full Decat is the cheapest and best way to add performance but the downside is you may require a remap, And also bear in mind a full decat is Illegal and will fail your MOT, there are also issues with the lamba sensor that could cause your engine light to pop up, however there are ways to get round this.

flat spot??

the centre section can generally be added for the mot to get the emissions low enough.

either that or buy off the mot tester !!!!!

Siggy I beleive a full decat should give an extra 25 - 40 bhp depending on the kind of air filter your running and model impreza. It should also give you slightly more throttle responce and much better mid range torque.

but don't quote me on it

Answer.....

No it isn't.

Not the cheapest by a long shot.

On a classic Scoob, a full de-cat can be had for £450 and a re-map for around £600 and you have PPP power for half the price!

Is your warranty (1 year left) really worth pi$$ing an extra grand into the wind, when the exhaust can be easily swapped back if the $hit hit the fan and your warranty wasn't being honoured due to modifications......

I know what route I would go down. (and have done!)
