Being in Nottingham is good in that there are afew dealers not too far from each other, there is Nottingham, Derby, Chesterfield, Sheffield, Liecester, and Mansfield.
I'd ring around afew, please let me know how you get on as I'll be in the same boat as you a afew months time

For your first 1000mile service i would get down to TSL and get all that ****ty oil they put in scoobies drained out and get the race spec stuff in so your engine is in good condition right from the start.
Subaru dealers just put the same oil in the scoobies as they do all their other cars, not a specific racing oil. Well so i heard, and thats bloody awful.

Most Scooby dealers (To my knowledge) use semi-synthetic oil, which is all that is recommended by the manufacturer.
It's only the people who :
1. PLan to keep it a long long time, to whom putting fully synthetic in it is worth it
2. You have more mods than you can shake a stick at so need the protection of an oil that can still perform at higher temperatures.
Magnatec is semi-synthetic and is perfectly adequate for a "normal" scooby (by this I mean and scooby with dealer only parts fitted to it.
If they needed anything better (especially with PPP for example) it would be a an additional warranty condition specified by Subaru/Prodrive when the PPP kit is fitted, and therefore the dealers would do it. But it isn't AFAIK.

I paid £120 of which 73 was labour(1 hour) . It was actually done at 5000k its a euro but treated as a UK 1000mile so had the oil change even though it didn't need it.

Am I missing something here? Why are people paying for a 1000 mile service? This is free !!!! Think you all need to speak to your dealers. Vertually every car manufacture gives the first 1000 mile service free. I certainly got mine free, and every new car I've ever owned had theirs free as well.
Me thinks some dealers are trying it on............ and getting away with it. Speak to Subaru customer services, they'll know.
