Expensive morning - Scoob broken into
#1
Parked up to watch my son play football and when we came back - passenger side window smashed, radio & road angel gone. Can put up with that but the little sh1tes took part of the dash panel as well - now no switches for headlamp wash or headlamp level - suppose the only good bit is the feckin useless bright switch has gone too !!!
Busy car park loads of people about - nobody saw a thing !!!!!!!!
Now waiting for Autoglass to come and visit but it doesn't look good - they don't seem to have a Scooby passenger window and its not easy to fit a temp perspex to a frameless window. So Scooby could be off the road for a few days - and my son's team lost too !!!
Police offered to finger print the car - 8.00 til 12.00 Mon to Fri - maybe I should have had an appointment to have the car broken into - that way it would have fitted in with the police schedule. <sarky mood> Probably too feckin busy nicking speeding cars to make their conviction statistics </sarky mood>
Really love working to buy a nice car so that some little feckwit can steal things out of it - at least I've still got the Scoob but I must admit it really makes me think about getting rid of it and buying something cheap and cheerful.
Must stop now before I get really p1ssed off.

Sorry to hear that. I would be the same if it happened to me.
My car was hit on a company car park yesterday morning and the person who did it drove off with out leaving his/her details. Now I am awaiting the outcome of the security video to try and identify the license plate.
Luckily not much damage. But I wasn't a happy bunny all the same. Hope you get sorted ?

Sorry to hear that m8. This is the only reason i dont drive the scooby everyday. Week-end car and trackdays now for me..Dont want any more dinks, broken windows and stolen cars. Had 3 stolen so far and it makes me madder every time. Now have a company run around for smashin and mashin by whoever and a nice baby that comes out when i want to enjoy the car for driving..
Strange though they must be getting the parts for another scooby...and the cycle starts again....

Thanx for the comments.
Kane - that's a good idea - maybe an escort van - that should be just about big enough to get our Irish Wolfhound into - like to see somebody nick stuff from the car when he's inside

What the **** is wrong with some people?
Nice looking scoobs will always attract jealous wonkers. Only had the car a month & already pessimisim is setting in.

Mark,
Was in Penlan area Swansea - should have known better eh ??
Latest is I get the window replaced tonight - Auto glass bringing a repacement down from bristol - should get it about 10.30pm - these guys work late or what !!!
Think the little sh1tes have had part of the wiring harness for the 3 switches away too - that should be fun to source
Serously thinking of a cheap run about.

Sorry to hear it M8T,
Autoglass never seen to have replacement glass in stock, had a side window in a errm Montego break of it's own accord, dont no why but it took autoglass 2 days to get the new glass, dread to think how long it wll take them to get a more unusual part such a scooby replacement side glass in stock.
Don't be temped to 'tape' a temp plastic sheet in place, did this on the above mentioned ,use duck tape and it let a right mess behind afterwards.
Hope you get everything fixed up OK
Fancy knicking that useless 'bright switch' maybe the little gits have found a decent use for it, like pluggin it into the mains and killing themselves ,hopefully
Got my scoob around 2.5 years ago now, caught some tossers trying to break into it after just 3 weeks , had some kind of screwdriver in the locks, scarpered when thay saw me, luckly no damage. Police totally uninterested.

Get a cheap run aroud and keep scooby for when you really want to drive a nice car/shows/track days etc...I know i'd like to drive mine all the time but its just not worth spoiling a nice car with dinks, scratches and breakins m8. It will only set you back a small amount in the long run..Is that not worth peace of mind??

jh,
Feel foy ya mate, its gutting. My old STI had an 'attempted' break-in at a hotel car park, they just wrecked the door handle and door skin, didnt actually get in. What annoyed me is I was concerned when I left it and told reception, they said 'dont worry sir, we have CCTV', next morning Im called to reception and theres a copper standing there giving me the good news. Go thru the CCTV tapes and the quality wasnt good enough to make an ID, what a f**king joke!!! O and the hotel? The orton hall hotel in p'boro, dont stay there, bunch of looooooooosers!

jhdee, good luck with the other bits mate, glad you got the window fixed and all credit to Autoglass and the poor bloke having to give up his Saturday night the fix your car up.
Put a few post's on the forum, mate i'll bet you can locate the parts you require at a decent price, good luck!!
As for CCTV it's useless, my mate got his Saxo VTR broken into on our local Sainbury's car park, damaged door, ripped the FRONT off the stereo, wrecking it , when asking about the cctv tape the car park was only covered around the entrance area, his car was not in this area so there was no evidence there then. Seems Sainbury's are only interested in shoplifters and not the people who spend there hard earned money there every week, only to find there car has been done over whilst there doing so.

Big Red. The accident to my car was covered by CCTV as it was at my place of work and the Security Guard on duty confirmed that it is always taped and covered by the camera. So I am waiting for the morning to view the evidence. Then the little Sh!te is in for a shock when the coppers and Insurance company come a calling for their dues.

Good luck jpor, just hope the definition on the tape is good enought to convict the little ****, then it's a good job well done.
What I was saying is that it seems the supermarket car parks only cover a select area of that car park, say the entrance and a little to either side of it, so when parking your car try and park it near the entrance then it may be covered by cctv.

jpor, please keep us informed as I would love to know if you have id'd the little ******. My car got twatted whilst parked in a car park but with no CCTV. Had a note left on the windscreen saying "sorry I hit your wing mirror". They seemed to ignore the fact that in breaking the mirror they carried on and proceded to push the mirror into the door creating a nice big dent deep enough to jam the window so it couldnt move And to top it off the number they left was either a fake or they ignored my 30 odd calls to the mobile and the three calls made to it by my local police station.
I hate people like this with a vengeance, so please keep us informed as to your progress in getting the barsteward. Would be nice to know someone didnt get away with it for once

I makes me really mad when I hear stories like these.
Does anyone know what we are legally allowed to do to little sacks of sputum that we catch breaking into or damaging cars etc. I dont know abour the rest of you but I would be reluctant to bash them or kick the Sh*t out of them as you never know what they are carrying. I had saw a shop opposite my house being broken into one night and as luck would have it I had one of those disposable cameras close to hand so I took some pics of them and the car, then called the police they took my camera and caught the thugs with the evidence I had collected really satisfying.
