P1 apology
#1
To Richard Butler of Day's of Chelmsford. In a previous thread about my favourite subject, I intimated that he either "couldn't give a toss or had no clout with Subaru(IM)" The latter is true as he assures me Days are no different than any other dealership when it comes to clout (ie none). He does give a toss and has been very helpful, especially today when I was informed that 2 P1's would shortly be dispatched to Chelmford!!!!!!!! Yippeeeee. However was quite disturbed to hear that IM may not be delivering the first two orders on Day's list!!!!! one of which is mine.

Further to recent e-mail, Barretts now advise that they are receiving two P1s at the end of this week, for delivery to customers next week, and one will be mine ! I'm waiting on the call.....

Still not heard a thing about my order from my dealer
Simple communication is the first part of customer service.....not
If they don't get their act together then I'll just have to test drive / buy one of the P1's advertised for sale in the Sunday Times this weekend......now where did these come from if they are all sold to legitimate dealers only. Somebody somewhere is telling porkies, and I have a suspicion the main smell of pork is coming from West Bromich
Still b****y waiting for any form of communication

I called my dealer yesterday to see if there was any update.
To be greeted by the following opening line:
“Hi Rob, now your not going to start shouting at me about P1’s”
Apparently they have been getting a lot of irate phone calls from people wanting delivery dates.
Anyhow, my dealer said he was going to call Subaru’s allocation department and call me back.
Latter part of yesterday afternoon he did call me with some news albeit not exactly what I wanted to hear.
That the expected delivery date is now within the first two weeks of June but I was told to add another two to that to be more realistic. (That’s now two months late!)
As Yex quite rightly pointed out, Simple communication is the first part of customer service.
Where’s Subaru’s communication ? It would have been nice to get a letter of apology from them.
IMO Subaru will not keep their positions in the JD Power survey by not keeping people updated.
This whole thing is turning into a bit of a mushroom effect.
What I think Subaru should do is offer us some form of compensation I.E. A free set of Gas Discharge Driving lights or a year’s free subscription to RAC TrackStar
After all it’s not our fault or the dealers fault that these cars late.

Prodrive brakes would be a nice idea according to a dealer on sunday you will have a job stopping a P1 without a brake upgrade.Ps i did see 2 P1 on the back of a transporter this morning on the M32 bristol at about 10.30, Hope 1 of these was yours.

Brad,
heard differing reports re; the P1 brakes. One say excellent for normal road use but not up to track days. I doubt mine will be on the track so am not too concerned. Can't understand why Prodrive brakes aren't standard anyway at £31495.
Phil
p.s. is Bristol East or West of Distribution point?

Brad,
I certainly would not say NO to a set of Prodrive brakes, especially if they were free.
Now that would go along way to restoring some faith..
Rob Barron
Still Pi$$ed of though.

Brad,
I go along with Jonathan, mine are superb better than the X drilled on my MY97, especially when some idiot in an A4 decided to pull into the fast lane infront of me . Thank goodness I was in my Scooby and not my Previa!

My P1 has std brakes today, it does stop. Dealer is talking out of some orifice.
However I will be adding Prodrive Brakes on Friday. This is only because of some impending track days
