Advice on car covers please!
#1
Hello!
Having got the opportunity to store the car "off the road" I would like to purchase a decent waterproof and breathable car cover. Has anyone any experience in this and are they safe for the paintwork etc?
Any websites or prices etc would be appreciated!??
Thanks in advance and happy driving!
Jon.

I have a cover for my Scooby. Some kind of breathable material. Doesn't harm the paint (and certainly better for the paint than leaving the car exposed to the elements and bird droppings). I bought it from someone on this BBS but I believe it originally came from Graham Goode Racing.

I used to have one for my 3000GT and it was very useful. Could be put on when the car was wet or dry. Made by a company called Specialist Car Covers in London. Cost about £170 and you got a carry bag and padlock included. I can get the number tomorrow if you are interested.

Hi Mossman,
I got a Demon Tweeks catalogue in Evo today, it has car covers on page 21 - From £101.99
They also do Air Chambers for storing your car in. Prevent rust etc etc. From £450!
Cheers,
Chris.

Hi Jon
I say go for classic additions. I have some of their covers and had a stand next to them at the motor show. Excellent quality and if you ask for Adrian I'm sure he'll giv a bit of discount.

Mossman,
Don't know if these numbers are still current but....
Pete/Tom at Covercraft (where I got mine) 0207 736 3214
or
Metex Autocovers
01254 704625
Both companies do custom made covers for your car, both were about the same price, I seem to remember.
