Does anyone have any experience of the Spec C import (I read about it in EVO)? I currently have a standard P1 which is coming u pto 3 years old. I am trying to decide whether to stay with it or try to find a better handling/faster scooby.

Any experiences of any problems associated with an imported car?

I'm quite happy with my P1, but quite like the idea of a change. Any other (polite) suggestions welcome!

There's loads of Spec C threads around, do a search for some to find out about the info side.

I've just got mine and very pleased - such a nice car to drive, much better than the Evo VIII (IMO, as I've owned both).

Get Iain Litchfield to give you a test drive, if you like your P1 you'll love this (had a P1 2 years ago)!

thanks, as a non-regular scoobynet user (shame on me), I didn't think to search - doh.

Spoke to Ian today, all sounds very interesting.

I am in the South - Epsom.

I got an insurance quote from tesco - £905 - cheaper than my current P1 insurance. So there goes that objection!

25k would be interesting!

Graham,

If you test the 'C' your P1 will be soon gone I had a ride in 'The red one' I don't want one, I need one

The limited is £27K. has Twin scroll Turbo,AC, some other trick suspension bits and STi7 wheels

The Standard 'C'is £25K has better wheels. IIRC IMHO

What did you think of those gold alloys on the red car then Tony??? Even Iain doesn't like them

Yep - Tesco's seem very cheap for the Spec C insurance I knocked off £600 off my Evo insurance when I chanced to the Spec C - great stuff (more gadgets for the car).

I didn't like the Red much but the Type 'C' wheels were much better than the STi7 type wheels

Hi,

Just doing a search on the C-Spec and found this thread......am seriously tempted to re-enter the Scooby ranks and go for the C-Spec....

Question:
What are the options on wheels given the above comments (any pics?) and secondly......

Air con.....does it come with it? (Seems strange quesiton I know for such a drivers car but hey, once you got it!)

Any help much appreciated

Wow, after nearly 2 months, I managed to get to Cheltenham, meet Iain and have a drive in the red demo car. It was damp and dark when I got there, so not much opportunity to have a thrash, but boy that's a very good car. Pointy, responsive, fantastic. Nice to meet Iain too.

Anyone want to buy a P1?

Graham,
Nice bloke ain't he

But surely you wouldn't want to swop a P1 classic for a Newage shock horror LOL it's a very nice car to drive though I hated the 'Red'

Tony,

Have you been out in it since the "tweeking" has been done ? I think even you will forgive the red colour now

If I had the money I would have the tweeked Spec C. And it isn't often you will hear me say I would actually buy a Scoob.

Cheers

Ian

Ian,
More or less finnished the decorating (5 weeks) built up enough browny pionts for a new motor
I had forgoten the colour once I was inside it but would order a different colur though looking foward to the 'Tweaked' version just waiting for it to be 'run in'

nellie,
Have you got those seats in yours

Peccy,
I must admit I do really love the STi V6 type "R" but I like the refinements of the newage it's the only car in our family so has to be practical Wife said don't mind what car we have as long as it has 4 doors.

Waiting for Jan/Feb to see if any lightweight special editions of next years MY04STi9UKDCCD is made, by someone or I will go for a Tweaked "C"

good point Tony, I have been through the same thought process re getting rid of a lovely limited edition P1 in favour of a new one! However, driving the spec C it is just an amazing car!

Unfortunately, I am not sure that my current budget will bridge the gap between what I will be able to sell the P1 for and what the Spec C costs. So I may have to drive around in "just" a P1 for a while to come!
