True performance figs in EVO
#1
In this months EVO as most of you will know there is a test of M3 CSL, 911 and a WRX STI TYPE C.
The performance of the Scoob is to say the least f'ing quick.
Am i missing something, or can a 335bhp WRX really go that quick. I am not casting any dispertions on EVO'S figures more the fact does it really only have 335bhp!. There just seems a hell of a jump in performance for 35bhp.
Cheers
Apologies if this has been discussed b4.

The car was tested 2 up with a full tank of fuel (they have a garage on site) at on Millbrook’s mile straight. It was quiet a hot morning as well and Evo took the averages from doing 2 runs in each direction to reduce the effect of the wind. Evo uses a V-Box II GPS based computer to get all of the figures on the car.
We must have done about 8 standing starts in total with it consistently getting 0-60 in 4.25-4.28 (don’t forget the Spec C is lighter than a normal STI)
The in-gear times were produced by letting the car roll to 20mph (preformed in each gear) and the give it full throttle all the way to the rev-limit.
You have to break ¾ of the way down the straight as there is a 40mph banked corner before to turn around. From a standing start we were doing just over 140mph at this point
Hope that makes it a bit clearer
Regards
Iain
