This morning, whilst stuck in traffic, I noticed several large car transporters heading from (I assume) the docks. What caught my eye was the fact that all of them were carrying scoobs!
ALL of them were in a really really bad way (some looked like they had been rolled)!! Not just minor cosmetic damage (IMHO). Take care everybody if you are buying an import soon!
A rough estimate would say that there were 20 odd cars in total. I dont think I have seen that many for sale described as crash damaged and repaired in a whole year!!
Just a warning everybody.
Cheers

hmm been there, done that.. the last three scoobs i've looked at/ had deposit on , on further inspection have been written off, and repaired, then attempted to be sold as excellent condition motors at full price.
luckily i've actually found one thats original now! getting her on saturday hopefully!
beware, on my travels looking for an import scoob 5 out of the 7 i'd looked at had been accident damaged, one so poorly repaired that the inspection guy said it was barely roadworthy.. chassis still twisted etc....
Buy from a trusted source, lots of pikey garages seem to be cashing in on the scoob mania thats going round at the moment.

I've got a MY99 UK Turbo which was crashed about a year after it was manufactured. It was repaired and then had a Thatchem approved inspection.
The guy who sold it to me was honest about it and I've ended up getting a spotless motor for a lot less cash. Any problems would of come to light by now cos it was repaired over 2 years ago.
I'll probably now always buy cars that have been crashed. If you do it right, you won't have any problmes.
The real problem is buying a car that's been stacked but not registered. There's plenty of conmen out there that'll try to sell you a shed.
HPi is always a good place to start but is not fullproof.
Just thought I'd share that with you!

But remember whoever owns them may be breaking them. Useful stock in a scrap Scoob... Bet there's some money to be made -legitimately!!
