Some how I don't think they would want mine, cos its done 160k miles, which i think should be the highest mileage on here. Saying that Adams in Aylesbury still offered her £1550 in px against an 03 Legacy limited.

Just paid 9k for a very nice ST1 4 MY98.

A feking good price, until same night big end went pop.

2K repair bill, but back on road now.

Even after that where the hell you gonna find something comparable for the money.

Intend to love this car which will be a first.

Feel privilaged to be able to drive one.

A true "classic" Impreza (by that I mean the original phase 1 cars)will achieve collector status at some point. The others I'm not so sure about.
I imagine all the people that have screwed theirs up with clear repeaters and other bits of tat will be rushing around trying to find original items in a few yrs.

You and all the Kevs down at the local cruise seem to think cars that came from the factory with orange repeaters need to be changed for more "modern" clear ones. In the same category to me as "Lexus" rear lights on anything other than a Lexus.

Wait and see which ones cars are worth anything in the end- modified or original.

Look at RS Escorts and Cosworths- who wants one that's been modified?

I think you are right about the clear lenses etc Nacro. The car will be worth more in time if it is kept original. I won't change the appearance of mine.

Evening all, I had a few hours with nowt to do today, so, as you do, I went down to my local Subaru dealer. I was having a look around on the forecourt at some of their used deals, some splendid motors on display when Paul, their salesperson came over for a chat.

Nice chap, not pushy, but seemed to know his Scoobs. We got talking about the classic ( I have a classic classic MY96 pre-facelift wagon) and he told me that over the next 12 months or so he expected to see the used prices of UK cars go up due to the fact that there are so few decent examples around !

Just thought I'd let you classic owners know, and BTW they also expect a UK300 model of the MY03 next year, POSSIBLY.

Plus, he also mentioned that a brand new RB5 hasn't been ruled out due to RB driving a scoob next year - WATCH THIS SPACE.

Skoosh.

p.s: Mitsubishi offered me £7.2k against a FQ300 today - WOW - I'll keep it I think.

Unhappy

Bit late - my MY98 goes in the next couple of days - still getting £7.5k as a part-ex isn't too bad

Are classics being written off / junked at such a rate that they'll be rare soon ?

I still can't see the point of forking out 20k for a new WRX or late STI, if you've got a fully paid up classic with a fair few mods. The new ones may be arguably better cars, but 12-15k better ? I could Really go to town on mods if I spent that on my current car

The economy is still too screwed to be buying 20k motors in large numbers; I was wondering why my local dealer has 9 turbos (sti or wrx) on the forecourt/in the showroom.

I must agree on the indicators etc etc........

That's why I kept all the original stuff too.......he he.

orange front and side repeaters
original 15 alloys
original white bonnet vents
original air filter !!!!!!

so when I do sell or trade-in, it will be totally original in every way.

Skoosh.

p.s: do you say tat or twa..........

I also doubt that the classic Impreza will ever become a true collectable.

P1 and 22B yes, anything else I very much doubt it - orange or clear repeaters!!!

Just in my opinion
