I missed out on the first group buy, so have contacted the same people to see if they will do me individual pricing.

I am happy to pay the price to just me, but am told it will be cheaper in bulk.
Just to fill everyone in, on the bits you don't get from the website,

gps detector which comes with laser detector which I have heard actualy works.

The only unit with the facility to work with a radar detector add on (£100 at a later date) so it can detect the Ku band safety vans, AND also a laser jammer (questionnable legality but it isnt mandatory).

By working with the gps unit which knows the limit and the speed, you will be able to arrange it so that the radar only ever causes it to beep when you are exceding the speed limit, so it means any false alarms due to the normally less reliable detection side of things are reduced enormously. worth noting that the add on radar detector is not out yet.

The unit is very small and stylish and can be installed permanently or not.

the unit fits into a cradle which can be left in a car and bought separately if you have two cars and want to switch between them.

It also comes with a remote antenna also available separately for doubling up to two cars, so the unit need not have line of sight to the sky.

The laser detector supplied with it merely sticks to the front windscreen with a sucker and again can be bought separately if like me you want to switch between cars!

These can be found here if anyone wants to see the site.

Excuse title, wanted to make sure it was scooby related!

The retail price on these is £430 inc. vat.

I can get one at £355 including charge for credit card purchase and delivery.

Not sure on price for bulk but have asked for a breakdown. Is anyone interested?

This thread is repeated on 22B.

I'm confused
Are you saying that there is a possibility that you can get it cheaper than £355 if doing a group buy?
If so, then yes I am interested.
Even at £355 there is a good saving, where is that from?

yes thats exactly what I am saying.

Same guy as last time, don't actually know the name of the company its justt he contact details I got from someone who bought or possibly arranged the last group buy.

I have the phone number of the company so could find out, but want to test the water to get an idea of numbers.

I would happily buy one at £355 now, probably £350 on debit card, but no harm in pushing!

Good luck if it goes wrong. I've been waiting 3 months for a replacement unit (old model), as the screen is faulty. Nobody from Origin ever returns calls and no sign of a replacement, plenty of broken promises though.

Road Angel for me next.

new model is meant to be a vast improvement.

It certainly looks a lot better.

With that in mind perhaps it is worth buying it on a credit card with insurance?

Does this have any advantages over road angel with sensor?

count me in too
I have got a snooper 815i I can live with the fact that it picks up all sorts of false alarms but i have passed many "safety" vans and although it is supposed to pick up laser and k band it never does.

ku band is the problem.

it does,

the road angel isnt as functional, and provides less informatio.

it also doesnt have a the radar input for the Ku band which the saftey camera vans use.

nor does it have the facility to work with a jammer

look here at the comparisons

there are better sites for the comparisons.

I think the main thing is that the angel according to that site doesnt know the limit, since the b2 knows if you are speeding you can set it to only warn you when you need the warning so it is less intrusive at other times. it will also be able to extend this to the radar for the safety vans when this extra feature is released (apparently at christmas).

I should add this is onky what have learned. if you have a direct question, give them a call.

it also has voice alerts which tell you what kind of camera it is, so you know to keep your average speed down in the case of specs.

the angle apparently doesnt speak, only beeps.

also the angel must have line of site as it doesnt have a remote aerial, meaning it will need to sit on the dash board.

it is also much bigger!

4 people so far.

price for 2 was £700 so 350 each. 5 to 10 would be nice.

I have heard good thinsg about the unit. But in terms of functionality it simply doesn't have the same versatility of features as the B2.

The main thing for me, is being able to turn off the warnings when you arent speeding.

When you are sitting in traffic going past a camera, having the bloody thing beeping constantly is annoying, the fact that they can apply this to the additional radar detector is very smart indeed as the only problem with the gps units is the lack of Ku band safety van detection.

GPS' advantage is the lack of false alarms, when you add a radar detector to it, you are likely to bring these back. Unless you tale advantage of the information that the gps can provide you with, namely the speed, and the speed limit, something that only the b2 does.

Adam

RA does do the radar jammer bit so there

I've not found the RA to be intrusive, just very reliable.

Agree about the KU detection but in rural areas it shouldn't be a problem.

The sales man pi55ed me off at the motorshow and that's what initially put me off.

sorry floyd, my mistake, so that means its only laser interaction is by means of jamming which is illegal.

ie. there is no input for a detector for those who want some peace of mind but dont want to bother with a jammer which has questionnable legality.

a moot point since we are talking about speeding anyway!

want to make clear, that I am not selling these, I suppose I would stand to profit in that I will get a cheaper price, but £20 is not going to stop me buying one.

Adam, the new unit may be a lot better, but if it goes wrong you will have problems getting the unti replaced, I'm into my 3rd month waiting for a replacement.

I agree the B2 looks good on paper, but please consider the after sales service from the manufacturer you decide on, you may need it one day.

DJ140,

points noted thanks for your words.

Guys have just heard back from the guys whose email address is

adam@aadm.freeserve.co.uk

if you want to contact him directly.

Discount goes to another £10 for five, but it looks as though it requires us to pool money first which wont help too much.

I have asked if we can purchase by means of a group buy password so that anyone interested at a given price can call up invidiucally.

with this in mind I will need to add up numbers first.

Guys,

I just received this email back.

if it helps!

hi ,
yes, I can understand the logistics of the problem , to make it nice and easy on pricing any one who quotes your name can have them for a price of £350 (if paid through paypal) if the payment is made by cheque / direct bank transfer I will do them for a price of £340 , this works out the same as the discount given on the 5 unit price ,
just to verify terms and conditions!!!!!

the price for one unit is £350 (paid through paypal)
the price for one unit is £340 cheque / direct bank transfer

all items will be posted out within 5 days of cleared funds ,

99% of the b2s I sell are sent out same day but on occasions we have run out of stock, we normally get them next day but the 5 day period covers me .

all items are new and boxed and come with manufactures warranty ,
the b2 comes with six months of update , after this period the price is £50 a year

all b2s are the latest model
........

if anyone is looking for a different model , I sell the lot!!!!
to be honest the b2 is the best one out at the moment , if you need any other prices please feel to ask

thanks for putting my contact details around , if you require a change in profession, I can offer a very good package of £3.70 an hour, rising to £3.75 after five years ,
only joking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The guy's name is Adam - you can call him on - 07732 080 666 (9-5)
