Damaged my baby !!!!!
#1
Driving back to work from lunch yesterday, hardly any traffic, doing about 30mph, beer delivery lorry comming the other way all of a sudden when we are about 30 feet apart a beer barrel falls of the lorry and starts bouncing towards me !!! stand on the brakes and almost stationary but barrel still bouncing towards me like a scene from the dambusters... SMACK !!! nearside corner takes full impact !! bumber smashed side light + indicator domolished !!! (no panel damage luckily !), I stop beer lorry stopped, they both jump out and ask if I hit it ??? so trying to remain calm an not shove his barrel where the sun don't shine we exchange details.
I've just got all the agro of getting it sorted now..ggggrrrrrr.
Still looking at it in a positive light, it'll sort the stone chips, 1 second earlier and I would have been wearing the barrel.
Any one got any useful tips when I speak to their insurance, I think they should be bending over backwards for me (unsafe load and all that), so curtesy car, my car trailored to the dealer for repair, my choice of where the car gets fixed..
Good start to the week eh ??

Witnesses??
If they give you any grief which they probably will then just state how much your whiplash has been aggravating you and the lower back pain sustained has caused you not to be able to get jiggy with the missus
I had a run in with a Littlewoods catalogue delivery driver years ago because the tit was changing the radio station. They all lied through their teeth, the driver didn't even turn up at court and I still only got a 50/50 payout
Don't give 'em an inch!

No witnesses, except a woman cutting her lawn where the lorry stopped.(she might have seen/heard something)
Barrel was empty, probably a good job cos' if it had been full it probably would have gone in the front and come out the rear !!.
I don't think there will be any dispute, the lorry driver in his haste to give me all the company details wrote it all on their job sheet for the day (which gave their names, reg number, where they had been delivering etc !!!).
It's just a right pain in the ****, whiplash hhmmm there's a thought !.
