It's Got to be Silver...........
#1
Trading in my MY02 for a MY03 WRX + PPP.
Just finished polishing my car up to give to the dealer to sell - Oh my god, Silver looks soooo nice when gleaming with Zymol.
So should I get another Silver one, then with loop spoiler, coded sills and 18" 10 spoke Prodrive alloys.... or
WR Blue with afore mentioned spoiler and coding and 18" Gold alloys
The dilema is frakin the family out! Your views welcome

Get the mica black for two reasons;
1) It looks feckin gorgeous
2) You don't see too many black MY03s or any other model for that matter.
Lots of people have commented on how good the car looks in black, especially when the sun catches the mettalic in the paint. Another chap pointed out that the resale value should be better due to the fact there are so few black Scoobies on the road.
Whatever the car looks and sounds awesome

I must say that i looked at three new 03 scoobies lined up at the back of a dealers forecourt at the weekend.
One was silver, one was Wrx blue and the other was black mica.
The black mica stood out from the others by far....looked stunning with gold alloys.
The silver looks cheap and the Wrx blue is just too common.
Have always thourght if i changed my Subaru it would be for Wrx blue but having seen the mica black and that most of the new Scoobs on the road seem to be Wrx blue, i've changed my mind.
However, silver would be easier to keep clean then black!
I reckon that in a couple of years there will be plenty of second hand generation III Wrx blues on the market to choose from....but not many black.
Take a look at Mica Black...especially in sunlight.

I have a silver sti classic but i like the blueas well
Good job i am not in the market I would'nt be able to choose
It took one guy in here over 12 months to pick all the options and order his motor.!

Thx for the thoughts so far...
Now for some controversy:
So nobody's recommended the WR Blue - lot of black votes. So why are 80%(ish) of cars sold at my local dealer WR Blue and almost no Mica blacks?
Black too difficult to manage IMHO! - but does look the dogs tho'

Got to throw in my humble opinion on this......
I'd go Silver, blue is nice but seems that the vast majority of Scoobs are blue. Black does look good I have to admit BUT it's a nightmare to keep clean every wash is a major event. My 03 WRX is black. Only went with it coss it's ex-demo and got a deal, would have much prefered Silver.

I've got a black MY01 - I agree that it looks fantastic. However, would I have another one? No. The paint is very soft, I have never known paint that marks like Subaru black. My old MY00 DBM was nothing like this. I really would be very cautious about having black again. Stone chips are a real nightmare and it does take a lot of cleaning. Just my thoughts...

Thx for all the input guys.
I've had a silver scoob for a year and still love it, but do like blue with gold wheels (common boy racer i know)
Did the old coin toss - then best of three- then first to 5
Blue won 5-2 LOL
Blue it is then

ha - decided on the toss of a coin - impressed!
this subject's always popular - and yet we blokes are SO critical when the wife/girlfriend's 1st automotive Q is always "what colour is it".
all been said before, but my view - SILVER:
not as commmon for Scoobs(ouch - standing by) and easy to clean
I nearly bought black as it is luverly for 30mins after polished..

I'm not ascooby owner yet but i'm looking to buy either a wrx (preferably with PPP) or sti (03/04 plate) this year or early next year so this thread is of interest to me. i do like the blue but there are too many of them about so I'm now trying to decide between black and silver.
The 1st thing i plan to change if i go for a wrx is the spoiler as i'd prefer the the sti spoiler, then chuck on some flaps, add fog light covers and the sti9 style front splitter (maybe even sti bonnet scoop! and that's before i even look under the bonnet!)
that said, the black wrx looks great with either the standard spoiler or the bigger one. a truly fantastic colour and look when clean but i reckon it will be a nighmare to keep clean which puts me off. then there's the issue of stone chips, particularly on the roads i use.
The silver wrx looks quite tame ( in my opinion) with the standard spoiler and those dark side skirts, but with the bigger spoiler and colour coded side skirts, and a set of flaps it looks spot on dirty or not.
If i lived in the right climate, with dust free roads and no rain i'd have the black, but as i'm in sunny scotland I reckon it will have to be silver.
