Damage repair - not happy and the work hasn't even be done yet!

Bit of a rant...
Took my car in today to have the crash damage repaired (after some idiot drove into the side of me).
Not happy one bit down to the general problems I've experienced so far with this 'approved Liverpool Victoria repairer':
1) On first inspection of the vehicle, engineer (?) commented that the paintwork (MY03 WRX Black) would be 'a nightmare'...hardly confidence inspiring.
2) Had to wait about 3 weeks to get to get the car booked in due to various arguments between the repairer and Liverpool Victoria over the estimate that was made (I thought using an 'approved' repairer was meant to get round all this stuff??!!). Every phonecall I made to either party blamed it on the other.
3) Dropped the car off this morning and watched each of the pre-pubescent oiks eye my car up, itching to get hold of the keys, grrrr...
4) Explained to the guy about the immobiliser (for his benefit, not mine), to which he takes the **** by saying 'so long as it doesn't blow up'
5) Sniggered when I signed the courtesy car (Clio) acceptance form with regard to speeding, parking fines etc.
6) Didn't note down a whole heap of damage to the left side of the courtesy car, which I've subsequently pointed out (the car had literally just been washed and you couldn't see the damage until the water dried)
7) Gave me the keys to the courtesy car with a parting shot of 'do try to remember that its not an Impreza'
So now expecting my car to come back ragged to death with a ****e paintwork job done that I can see I am going to be arguing over for a long time to come...and I'm gonna miss my scoob :-(

You don't actually have to use your insurance co's "Approved Repairer". You can nominate another one, but you may have to pay for the work then get it reimbursed by the insurance co.

You can take the car anywhere you want to have it repaired , if your not happy get it from there and take it somewhere that you feel will give you the service you should have , you pay enough for insurance , I've been through this before and took it to a repairer of my choice.

Have you ever had a any work done their before or do you know anyone else who has ?
Go and take a look at any other cars they have in the bodyshop and check out the colourmatches and workmanship.
Their workmanship might be upto scratch even though their attitude towards the work may not be.
Hope you made a note of the milleage.

All above is good advice. If you are not happy, get onto your insurer and tell them now!
Also note that you are in Herts. I can recommend an outstanding bodyrepair / crash damage garage, who did an excellent job on my black MY01 a few months back. Email me if you want the details.

Knew that I could get it repaired anywhere i wanted to (subject to insurance approval), but didn't want to have a lot of hassle with doing that and thought using the 'approved' repairer would reduce this (how wrong I was).
Have now found out that the repairer charges 2.5% extra on any payments made (incl. insurance excess) using any card transactions (not limited to credit cards - I've checked). Called LV and told them this...was told 'it is up to the repairer and nothing to do with us'. Replied that maybe they should warn customers in advance, so at least they have all the info at hand B4 choosing that repairer.
Took a photo of the mileage with the repairer premises in the background.
Who knows, maybe I'm just overeacting and a good job will be done, but I've just got that feeling...
