Sorry toonman,

I misunderstood...

Not everyone that shoots off at the lights, is racing the car next to it.
I was just clarifying that on this occassion, the guy was.

just got to say that last year some time,b4 i got the scoob,i was on my way home from work in my astra gte 2.0 16v,just goin into the medway tunnel in kent when i spotted a red classic turbo in my rear view mirror just coming off the roundabout from medway city estate,i was up to about 120mph by the time i was half way thru the tunnel, and this scooby had caught me up,i moved over b4 he had to slow and come straight back out behind him,he moved away but had to slow for a camera about 1/2 a mile after the tunnel.then within the next couple of miles we encountered 3 roundabouts where oddly i caught him up as he bottled it big time, obviously not knowing wot the car was capable of!!but at the time i just thought it was because he was in his 40's and he didnt have very big bollox, but he did put his thumb up when we went seperate ways at the 4th roundabout....my point is, i knew this geezer would cane me if he wanted to(or if he knew wot he was doin)but i went for it with him cause i just love to see a scooby do wot it does best, and alot of people out there now know wot scoobies are and may like to do the same.....
anyway sorry about the essay.

just like to add that wasnt the only time i went for it wiv scoobs in me astra!!!

jay

I was most amused today by the confidence a Ford SportKa driver had in his new ride's ability.

I was sitting at a red light in the outside lane, minding my own business and the traffic was tailing back behind me. Next thing a silver SportKa pulls up on my inside, obviously intending to annihilate me when the lights change.

The driver had the top down and him and his mate looked as cool as a couple of hairdressers on a hot day! (Audi TT wannabe!)

Anyway, as the lights changed, off he smoked, so I felt obliged to let him hear all 270 horses throught my stainless system, followed by a full chat VTA blow off throught the good ol' Forge!

Anyone else had daft cars trying to race you in the Scoob?

I had one of those poxy GT2's the other day try it on, he was goading me into a race so I obliged and left him for dead at the next set of traffic lights.
Pure bliss it was, then I woke up

Question

I take it you mean a StreetKa when you say he had the top down, and not actually a SportKa, which is completely different

Yes they are slow, but Kas do actually handle quite well (if you ever try one).

lol @ R6 CDW

About the exact model, maybe I'm getting confused here...

It was the Ka that looks like a kind of aborted 206CC with the chrome roll-over hoops.

Is this the StreetKa?

Whats a SportKa then?

and Stevebt

you asked
maybe he wasnt trying to race you, he might just pull away quick from lights as most of us do
I should have mentioned that on the other side of the junction there was a line of parked cars in his lane so he had to smoke me to get into the right lane.
He chose the inside lane with a full view of the road ahead and could clearly see that his lane was obstructed so his obvious intention was to race in front of me.

Fool!

I was getting some **** from a boxter the other day. dunno if it was the s or not, but upt ot reed line in 3rd we we even, but when I went for 4th I lost him. I was on a long run up motorway, so slowed back to 80 in the interests of fuel conservation & global warming

However, irritating git caught up, and pulled in behing me about 2 foot fom bumber. Why he didnt just go past is anyones guess.

Followed me to an uphill stretch, where I floored in in 5th from 80 and stoll blew his doors off.

Dunno if he was trying or just being a fraggle. Why did he have the attitude and stick on my ****. I hade being tailgated. Its a saftey thing

going through andover the other week when a really old mondeo saw us put his foot down in a 40 he was doing about 60 when he came to a roundabout.cause of the traffic he sat there and i caught him i rolled up in 2nd and gently accelerated he flawed it and on his 3rd gear change i heard a massive crunch where he obviously *****ed up the gear change i couldnt stop laughing thought his clutch was going to fall out it was that bad.dont think his wife/g/friend was to impressed it was comical though
