What's this "aren't you a big man" comment then. I really can't believe you own a Scooby and haven't had a quick blast to 120/130 mph. We all do it, it's just about picking your time and place. Screaming around a blindish corner at 80 is far more dangerous in my opinion and i'm sure were all guilty of that too. Really can't be doing with comments like that. No it's not big or clever and i'm quite sure the guy wasn't trying to be. It's all about risk asessment and if you do that properly you CAN have a few silly fast seconds without putting other people at risk. Otherwise they wouldn't let police drivers go over the ton would they.
Edited to suggest that it's probably not a good idea to E mail subscribe to this thread.

Never heard of that one
I've heard of the standard 911gt2 at 520bhp and £120k compared to the standard Turbo with 420bhp for about £87k
GT2 Performance is excellent - Porsche turbo not so good........

Hmmmm, GT2 should not be available yet, might have been a pre-demo/press car. I take it you are into Porsches, so you can easily spot the various models from each other when they pass you at that speed. Sure you were not dreaming ?
Price tag: about 180 K Euro's......

sorry - I've driven a Porsche Turbo and was not 'blown away' - I actually prefer the Ferrari Modena.......and no I dont have either
Good for top end - but then I was driving in the UK - so could'nt really check that out
Yes good to 100, but I was'nt awed by it at all..... then again it only has 420bhp - with a hefty price tag for the dealer performance upgrade!
Porsche 911 gt2 not out???? - I've seem about half a dozen in and around London - unless these are imports - they costs about £120k - so yes the 180k euros would be about right..
btw I have owned cars in excess of 400bhp.........

The 462bhp 996 GT2 has been out since 2001.
Ceramic brakes & no driver aids apart from ABS.
It did hold the Nurburgring lap record for a road car, until that silly radical thing went a bit faster.

996 GT2 has been out for ages, a new version with a few more hp and a carbon fibre spoiler is on the way for October.
996 GT3, 2 iterations, the 1999 versions and the new 2003 ones which have been on the streets for about 2 months.
911 Turbos are the best road cars in the world. 360's both Modena's and Spyder's are awesome but harder to get the performance out of.

Never had a ticket, and before the Scoob, owned many fast bikes, so i'm not new to a few ton up experiences. Don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to glorify or condone dangerous driving. Just saying there is a time and a place for speed, if your sensible obout it, thats all.

until that silly radical thing went a bit faster.
that silly radical thing went over 17 seconds faster, which is not really 'a bit'
it did blow up straight after that tho lol
used to work at radical and the 1500 turbo will be immense when its sorted properly! The car would've been a lot faster in michael vergers hands too, bennet couldn't drive it properly.
But i'd rather have the gt2, gorgeous car and as said already, easily the best road car around (apart from perhaps the rs with the full cage as standard )

As impressive as the Radicals figures are, putting it in the same sentence as Porsche is blasphemy.
They are poles apart, one's a great supercar, the others a Katie Hill build.
