What seats does the MY03 have?
#1
As the title says what seats come in the MY03:
Are they the same as the STi but covered in material instead of Alcantara or are there shechty sport variants floating about.
Noticed that the spec on Subaru UK website says side air bags are standard equipment?
Cheers

I am just about to order a Euro import and I have the choice of sports or bucket seats. Sports have airbags but feel sh1te, buckets are very supportive and altogether loads better (the MY03 WRX bucket seats are simply the STI seats trimmed in a different material). Since I have never had a car with side airbags and its never worried me before about having them, I am deffo going with the bucket seats. Insurance is not affected as long as you declare the car as a parallel import.
You do not have a choice of seat now in the UK. Only ones offered are the crappy air bag ones with not a lot of support what so ever. This to me is a big advantage of buying from Europe. You'll be reminded of this every time you sit in the car.

have to agree re poor WRX03 UK spec seats
sure - nice to know you have airbags
and look ok
and comfortable for long mway journeys
but nowhere near the support as Classic seats.
If plan any lively driving/ track work and have an option, I would consider the bucket variety
I purchased new in UK so no option

Depends how big you are as well I think. I've got the sports seats and am pretty solidly fixed in there (it's all muscle ) and I never find myself sliding about in them.
I'm pretty sure buckets would be too constricted for me for everyday use.

I'd heard the '03 Model WRX came with sidebags in the buckets seats but didn't think that likely- and, with that in mind was confused that my '03 from Belgium had buckets (as I wanted) but no airbags.
Sounds like they've taken the choice away in UK. Bit of a shame that.
Mines got the bucket seats and they are way better IMO.
