Sorry to sound a bit thick but what exactly is an S202?

My mate has just bought one, (haven't seen it yet) and I am keen to learn a little more about it.

From what I gather so far it would beat the pants off my old classic turbo.

Cheers in advance.

Hello Mate,

S202 is a limited edition fugly. Based on STi RA spec C thingie, the intention was to improve the power to weight ratio.

Think it's something like 320bhp and 280lb ft. Suspension and engine mods, lightweight bits, incl exhaust, you get the idea. There were 400 made I think. Also import only.

You still got your then?

I hope your mate's got a garage - the rear wing on those is a little tasty.

There was a thread on these cars just a couple of days ago Asif. Search button?

The S202 is a limited edition version of the 2002 model year Japanese market Impreza STi version 8 Type RA Spec C, which is the lightweight, stripped out homologation special. 316bhp (on Japanese 100 RON fuel), lightweight bodyshell, no stereo, aircon, electric windows or other toys, large I/C spray tank etc. etc.

The S202 was a limited edition Spec C available in yellow only, 17" (Advan or Rays IIRC) lightweight alloys, retuned suspension, lighter brake rotors, aircon and electric windows added back in.

Thanks folks,

Yeah he is a jammer and he knows it! His previous motor was the Makkinnen Tarmac configured Evo VI thingy, which he used to bring to Bolney for the last couple of years (albeit very late in the day!)

Hi Rich how are you? I am cool and yes haven't sold the motor, not tried to as nothing interesting business wise has come my way.

My old cookies dont work Greasemonkey, am logged in and Scoobynet technical dont reply to my mails about it!

Definately more than one colour then, as my mates' is black.

Hmm, so the conclusion must be to give him a call and get him to come over!

Thanks fellas.

There's a review of a chap called Russel Martin's S202 in this month's Jap Performance mag.
Looks very nice all round (although maybe I would have to go for a collour other than yellow!)
