Local dealer wouldn't budge on price so I e-mailed 'What Car' for them to "Price Match"......

And one Subaru dealer did! Black TypeUK STi8 (NOT IMPORT) under £24000 on the road!

Just wondered what people are paying if you don't mind telling.

My dad's gonna be in the market in about 2 weeks and don't want him paying over the odds.

Euro/Grey Import and UK supplied cars.

Thanks

I managed to get a "healthy" discount on a Black STI with PPP, Sti Mats and sill gaurds, quickshift box, Gap payment protection and the exterior/interior protection wax. That was for an early June order with a mid July delivery.

If you don't mind them having a couple of miles on, check out the for sale section here. There's been loads up for sale recently at between £22-25k, most with the desired options (PPP). I counted 5 in 1 week not too long ago.

Yea, looked in the for sale section, but he wants a brand spanker really.

Anyone with actual figures?

Spoke to Motorpoint today and a few others. Are Euro spec cars from Malta a problem?

Really want a UK car but 2-3k off is nice....

You need an EU supplied car to get the three year warranty. The Motorpoint cars only have one years warranty and aren't that cheap by the time you've added tracker and alarm. I seem to remember someone on here had bought a new UK STi for just over £23k from a main dealer.

Cheers,

Ian.

After having to take my new R32 Golf back due to poor quality (I'd never buy another VW) I needed a car pretty quickly. So I decided on a new STi, rang round loads of Dealers and was quoted best time of 6 weeks, only found one in stock and had to pay full price. But I picked it up a couple of days later. Just love the damn thing, need a PPP on it now ........... plus Scooby owners seem more friendly.

Tins offered me a black Sti8 with ppp, sti mats/sills, 18" Wheels (FF7's), quickshift for just over 27.5K. Local dealer matched the price as the car would have come from them anyway.

Lancaster Pangborne have an ex-demo silver STI8 PPP with 10k miles for £23k. Drove well but I'm too tall to fit in the new model.

Thumbs up

In the rear of "What car?" magazine they have all the list prices of the cars available in the UK. Next to the list price they have a "target price" which they reckon you can purchase the car for somewhere in the UK.

Basically they reckon that if you can't get the car for the target price, you can phone them or e-mail them and they will locate one for you that will match the target price (or as close as possible).

Thats what I did and I got an email from a UK dealer offering me the car for the target price....result!!

What Car? Website here

Edited to get the website correct

I paid Sparshatts £23.5k for my STI 8. I was on the verge of buying an import and told them if they could do 23.5 I would be straight round with the cash. They tried to say no but when they realised I was serious they did it. In fact they only wanted a £500 deposit until it arrived, 6 weeks later.

Its too slow though...
