My car was last serviced at 43k it now stands at 45.5k, the next service is due at 51k but i dont think ill get to this mileage for at least 10 months. Should i have the oil changed now or wait till 51k? The last service was march.

Oil does go off but it takes a while, you could do it yourself. 45 mins tops. Filter £11 from Subaru...then oil from where-ever..

You could change it when it gets to 46k but if you want to keep the service history up in the book your car should be serviced every 6 months or 'X' milage whether your cars done the mileage or not....or just do it 6 months from the last change of oil.

So it's due 14 Sept, you can either put it in for a service or just change the oil yourself.....or change the oil and get them to do the rest of the service, then at least you get your book stamped and save about £100 !

Save on the price of the oil, if they don't keep it for themselves and put in their normal oil.

Get your hands dirty ! 6 small bolts and 45 mins and your done !

Its worth changing the oil on these cars every 3K miles anyway, especially if you drive it hard everywhere.
