Just seen a scoob with this wierd thing on the roof. It was like a sunroof opened the wrong way? You know like it was tilted at the wrong end?
Forgive me if I'm being stupid.......

Only available on the Jap Import V limited spec cars. Originally was homologation for the rally cars, as the drivers need air vents, or something like that anyway

Sorry guys, you're all wrong! I have a V-Limited with this device fitted... It is actually a catflap... so you don't have to open the doors if you forget to put the cat out before driving off!

Yep, you have succesfully looked silly.
If you look, Mulder sad that it was like a sunroof opened the wrong way i.e. hinged at the back, with a gap at the front - much like the bonnet scoop. So when going forward, it would suck lots of air in. Much like the bonnet scoop.
Feel silly now?

Sorry to change the subject here, but you post for England or Scotland, as your name would infer.
Only last week I was on the phone to GG ordering parts and the guy I was dealing with had to rush off to deal with a Moray.
Was that you?
And if you can afford to run a Skyline and post as much as you do, this leads me to deduce some things:
a) You’re retired with a shed load of cash.
or
b) Your not retired but you still have a shed load of cash and a leased line and do hardly any work like me.
and
c) Your car must be unbelievable.

If it is the single/dual vents above the front seats, then they're the air intakes to cool the driver & navigator. They trade straight-line speed for the extra weight & power drop that comes with air-con.
The old Le-Mans sportscars had similar, but much smaller vents on their side doors to allow hot air out of the cockpits (scoops on the front of the car allowed "cooler" outside air in). Occasionally, drivers would reverse the scoops so that they pointed forwards, to get more cooling in the cockpit. This extra cooling was achieved in two ways, firstly, the forward facing vents would suck air into the cockpit, then secondly the doors would blow off at high speed...
And as for

Yep, you're right. 'Sucked' probably wasn't the right word (unless you happen to be driving through Soho at the time ), diverted would be far more accurate.

I am fortunate enough such that I could choose to run a skyline, instead of the scooby, if I wanted to... however it would currently be a bit of an old-mans car for me.
I can post fairly regularly whilst working... obviously, the more work arriving, the less posting I can do... make of that what you will!
As to GGR, I did enquire about some parts recently. IIRC it was on the Tuesday a couple of weeks ago... GGR have always been very good on the customer service front, in my expirience anyway.
As to my car... I suppose it's acceptable, for the time being!

Moray, on behalf of blubs (who I am currently on the phone to - internet access is a bit advanced for where he lives), the air is not fast moving in relation to anything, it is still no matter what. If I (read blubs) were to travel past your house at speed, your house does not move. Therefore, your house (or the air) is not moving fast in relation to anything.

Assuming you drive into a slight wind (5mph towards the front of the car) at a groundspeed of 40mph, the speed that air is moving _relative_ to the roof vent will be ~45mph. The air channeled through the vent will indeed be fast moving when it hits the driver, hence chilly shoulder ensues.

Just to humour you further...
From the drivers frame of reference, the roof-vent is essentially static and the air/wind is, indeed, moving at speed, hence my use of the term "fast moving air".
