The car didn't go through the barrier, it hit the curb and bollards in front of the barrier so hard that as the car barrel rolled in the air it hurdle clean over barriers without touching them, landing on its roof in the road below. I have every sympathy for the passengers and the families of the dead, but witnesses have said the driver was driving like a loon, so its hard to feel anything for him.

My sympathies to the families concerned, very sad.

You would have thought the fact he was going to get caught on a speed camera would have stopped him.

One of those Road Safety Vans would have helped.
Especially if it had been parked in close proximity to the over-bridge, it would have stopped it tumbling over the barrier.

Thumbs down

are we sure the driver actually had a licence ?

Wouldn't want to be the copper who has to go and tell the parents, that must be a real gut churner, don't think i could do it.

why do you ask such a strange question?
Don't think he will be worried about how many points he will get.

And what will the do, add him to the speed induced road accident figures to justify another speed camera.

What a memorial to him

Unhappy

I'll say a prayer tonight.

Most of us on this BBS will of driven far too fast at some point, and without regards for the consequences. None of us will know if the passengers were asking him to slow down, stop, let them out. I can sit back and look on my driving in late teens early 20's and hang my head in shame.

The end result is a few young people have lost their life and there are family and friends that have to deal with their loss.

That suggests to me that the driver didn't care or was showing off to his teenage friends, and another comment was passed about "which idiot gave him a licence" i merely commented by saying did he actually have one, as for someone to drive like that, to me would suggests that he didn't.

I feel sorry for the lads who lost their lives before they had really started them!
