... and I'm not talking about my stomach

I have an MY02 WRX running with the following handling mods:
- Eibach Spring Set for '02
- Front STi strut brace
- Metal Rear Drop Links
- TSL Laser Wheel Alignment

The car is running Goodyear F1 GSD03s and Grp N brake upgrade

Each of the mods above (done separately) improved the handling, I am now happy with it generally, but there is still simply too much body-roll for my liking under hard cornering. I realise the Scoob is a big heavy car, but I can't help thinking that my old 106 GTI handled better in general terms!

Are there any other reasonably priced mods I can do that will cut out body roll further? (or am I now looking at a full-on expensive custom suspension setup) ?

thanks guys

Go for a 22mm front ant roll bar and the adjustable 22mm on the back. Available from Jap innovations, Power station, Scoobymania (i think) and loads of other places.

For the both including postage and VAT it is around £200 but it is well worth it.

If you want even less body roll go for the 24mm on the front and back. You will have to get the uprated rear anti roll bar mounts if you do go for the 24mm, these are about £50 for the pair.

Even Mitsubishi EVOs don't drive as well as an 106GTI, it's a completely different car mate, smaller/lighter, FWD etc you can improve your car but never compare it with a Pug GTI, believe me I had one for more than three years!

The F1 tyres make the car feel like it is rolling around a lot more than say the potenza's, they have totally changed the way my car feels and i don't like it much

Get the bumpsteer removed. Have you got solid front anti roll bar links.

Can't see what's big and heavy about a Scoob.

haven't got solid front links (didn't know they existed), I will see who sells 'em

cheers

The car is heavy? It is light. If this car is heavy, and it is a 2 litre flat 4, then Skylines must be very heavy (although they are about 1600kg).

yes, Scoobies ARE heavy (and the New Age is about 80kg heavier than the classic as well) - at the top of this thread I compared it (somewhat unfairly perhaps) with the handling of a 106 GTI, remember

Yes I just mentioned the bumpsteer to improve your handling if you needed it. The STI's have solid front links as standard but the bendy plastic ones at the rear. They stop the roll bars doing the proper anti roll job. Replacing the bendy plastic ones at the rear and at the front if necessary might do a lot to get rid of the roll and improve the handling too. Whiteline do solid links and there is another make which I have forgotten. Heavier anti roll bars may help too but with solid links.
