I bought a Wrx and wish now that I went for an Sti.
Wrx is a more practical day to day car in my opinion, however the Sti is obviously a fair bit faster and a little more hardcore.
All I have done is spent a fortune on mods making my Wrx like an Sti !!
Love it to bits though:-)

Had my 03 STi 1 month done 3k in it, WOW! super smooth on the m-way, aslmost as smooth as the BM 328 was... Mega pulling power past 100mph even in top. much better ride than the 2 WRX's i test drv and more sorted suspension than the frog eyed Sti I had a test in. What more can I say "or and it revs to 7.5k mad..." 300bhp with the prodrive kit and it feels it too... my daughter loves it thinks it like having our own drag racer!

Dude hope this made up your mind!

Go for the WRX with PPP - much better than std STi - even the Subaru dealers agree. Faster, smoother and better on day to day driving on typical roads. And also 3k cheaper.....

Maybe so for the new models McRash but from reading the thread, I think the boy's after a classic import.

I went for the STI for the same reason as mentioned earlier..... it's no more expensive to insure than the WRX!

Why go for the WRX when you could have an extra 40BHP and a WHOLE lot more car!

Go for the Sti bud.

McRash that is a PPPd WRX, Standard WRX would get blown away by a standard STi. Don't try and argue this as we own both an 03 WRX and an STi8 so I know the score

We are just about to get the PPP on the WRX and I am going the ECU Tek road.

I did say it was a WRX with a PPP and having been around Milbrook in both believe me the STi is slower. The WRX rides better too on our great roads...

we were a bit in the dark before buying our STI2 not really knowing the difference between STI and WRX,after speaking to my insurance company they advised me that the STI cost no more to insure than a WRX so it wasn't a hard decision!!! had it four months now it's amazing!!! moded to 308bhp she flies!!!
Good luck with your purchase!! import WRX=236Bhp(ish!) import STI=276BHP(and lots of alluminium bits BUT THIS IS WITH 100RON PETROL lucky buggers!
