Exclamation

Just been outside cleaning my car this afternoon.Started cleaning underneath the number plate on the front splitter(MY00) and tucked between the splitter and the grill(radiator) was this...
It was loose so i pulled it out.Question is: what the hell is it and is it vital. I have no idea so maybe someone can enlighten me.

The twin hole and slot configuration quite clearly ID this as a random vector plotter. I should replace it at your earliest opportunity unless you don't want to get lost again!

Nope - it's definitely the dilithium crystal retaining bracket. It's a Scooby captain, but not as we know it.....

Right....just checked the number plate and it is securly fastened. So apart from Back to the Future and Star Trek sundries, it must have been left there by the last person to fix new plates on.
Drove into work this morning and nothing was unusual so i will keep driving in ignorance...

thx for all the replies.

Just out of curiosity, do any of the grooves or holes line up with the holes in number plate?

Sonic-sorry you were the first with the number plate idea so credit where due.
just seemed a tad odd, since the plate is secure as hell but with this spare bit of metal kicking around.I'm not worried now.

just got my splitter back from being painted. so i was fitting it! the number plate has to be moved down onto the splitter and it leaves that bracket behind. which you unbolt and remove.

car looks mean now! well impressed. i'll get soem pics up soon!
