New MY03 - What Price
#1
Has anyone bought a new MY03 Wagon or saloon recently. If so what sort of discount (on manufacturer's list price) have you managed to get from UK dealers? Top Gear magazine suggests it should be possible to get about £1,000 discount. Is this realistic? Anyone done better?
Cheers

I've been shoping around, and have got a verbal agreement on 5% off list price - thats £1012 off a blue micra saloon (£20245 list)
BUT I am adding STI Side and boot spoilers (fitted free!) and tracker, and matts and alloy gear lever with quickshift.
BIG TIP : if you are looking to buy, go in at the end of the month, with your deposit in hand, tell the salesman you want to place an order and keep pushing for more stuff until you are happy!

check out a site called www.autoebid.com.
They match you up with UK dealers (also do imports) in a "reverse auction" whereby dealers bid for your business
The target prices are by far the best deals I've seen and I've been looking around. they charge a small commission on any sales
I will be using them when i decide to buy

Robb try and get a standard price ....it is usually lower than book / then get a VERY GOOD TRADE IN !
Then work on extras ie mats /private plate / tax/ etc
Then Haggle !
Try and work one dealer against another (local) they hate it !!
And you will come out looking rosy

Yep, I just got £1.1 k off list price of a new (03) WRX Wagon plus freebies (mud flaps, WRX mats, rear cargo mat, full tank petrol, half price AutoGlym LifeShine treatment, momo gear ****...and a free cap for my son !!) Phew. Took a lot of haggling with various dealers of around 100 mile radius in Midlands but we got there to do a deal. This price was actaully a good deal when compared to Importing or dodgy Motorpoint...! So yep you can do it !!!
