** Would you do it? **
#4
I own a 4 month old MY03STIPPP and a 22B TypeUK. I'm selling the new STI as soon as I can work out what to replace it with...so I can happily say I'd rather drive/own a 22B.
Would I swap? Well the STI is probably worth £23k, 22B about the same. However, when you come to sell on the 22B will be very dificult to shift. No warranty, 5+ years old...
22B specific parts are pretty difficult to get hold of (especially on imports) so in the event of a prang or engine problem you will need patience...and money

i think iut depends what you are looking for from a car. the 22B is, well, the dogs danglies. Its SUBARU at its best, nothing in the range is close, however...
Why do you have a subaru? for the rally breed history, the power, the great drive, the prestige? Or because it has all that plus 4 doors?
You can see where im going here, the 22B might be like the forbidden fruit, its something you want but you cant have it. That is the appeal of 22B's.
Personally, i would have the 22B, practically, the MY03

IMO the 22B always looked that bit special to other classic shape scoobs with the phat blown arches and the immediate look and feel of a WRC road car but with the STi8 u still get that look as it has the wider arches, big bumpers etc.
Personally i havent driven a 22B so cant comment on the driving/handling etc between the 2.
wot would finally round it up for me would be the fact that the MY03 is brand new, c/with warranty and much cheaper and available parts then a 22B.
I would have to use the car everyday so those reasons would steer me to the STI8
if, in a dream world, i had a choice of a car for w/end driving etc then it would have to be the 22B

Cheers for the opinions folks... my 03stippp is a weekend car and living with 2 doors would be no problem.
I can't really believe I am seriously contemplating this
