Hi Guys,
Does anyone have an STI 8 with PPP,and use a scoobysport rear silencer?.Only really asking as i drove one the other day with the prodrive silencer, and whilst it was very good i think the scoobysport back box is more tuneful.Would the scoobysport silencer detract some of the performance from the car,as the ppp is supposed to be a matched item set? In my mind i dont think it would, but you never know.Regards, SIMON.

Know someone who's done this very thing. Thought the PPP was a bit quiet.

STI8 PPP now with Scoobysport downpipe and backbox fitted. He described it as "having got it's voice back".

and lost its warranty.

Be very carefull what you, i expect the main reason you went for a PPP was to retain the warranty cover? Otherwise why not get an ECUTEK remap, its cheaper.

You could lose all waranty cover on the engine by replacing the backbox, and definately at more risk of this changing the downpipe. I am not saying that is right or wrong, thats just how it is these days.

I wouldnt trust any dealer who tells you that! If IM found out the dealer would get nailed!

ANY warrenty claims are now being looked at if the engine is in question to make sure its not modded. If it has been you wont get diddly...

and....

losing £6k for a new engine vs it sounding a bit louder - i'll take the silence and wait 3 years!!

My neighbours comment on how noisy the PPP exhaust is, so it must be quite an impressive noise for them to notice!

Wink

I was told by the dealer its not a problem but they did say if i changed the exhaust and for some reason i developed a problem with the engine at a later stage it would void it, remember what they say and what they'll actually do could be 2 different things entirely! Must admit if did take it in 4 a wrranty issue though that exhaust would be whipped off as quick smart!
