Please can someone tell me how much it will cost to SVA a jap wrx.
I intend to do the work myself,so i need to know what parts I will need and what they cost, and also how much the actual SVA test costs.
Ive been offered a good deal on a car direct from Japan.
Thanks for your help, Rally Nuts.

SVA with all the prep work is usually about £450-£550 plus VAT based on prices in Southampton. Test itself is about £350 IIRC.

If you are doing it yourself you will probably need to fit rear fog lamp with separate switch and indicator side repeaters. All glass has to be safety, tyres EC spec and OK. External body kit often has to be removed.

The tester will check to see that none of the switches, stereo ***** etc protrude beyond a certain point. They have a special tool with a sprung loaded plunger inside a ball to check this.

If you need to know more mail me offline and I will ask my neighbour who imports the odd vehicle from time to time. My info has come from going to te SVA centre to collect cars with him.

Cheers

Peter

Wink

From memory, SVA cost depends on the year of car.
As the age of the vehicle determines if it needs an SVA at all,
a standard SVA or an enhanced SVA (ESVA).
Also from memory the price differece between the SVA & ESVA is scarey. (BTW I dabble a bit with the imports)
