Fitting a newer dashboard - help!
#1
I have a MY93 WRX and am looking to fit a year 2000 STI dash as I have already changed the rest of the interior - does anyone know if an STI dash will fit AND work? Is the 2000 STI dash digital?

Haven't we been here before chap? You may have a serious job making all this work.
The speedometer is electronic on the later cars, so under ideal circumstances you'll want to get hold of an electronic driver and graft it onto your gearbox. Thing is, you'll first have to find out whether removing the mechanical speedo drive is going to cause any problems (does your current dashboard give the ECU a speed input?), and also you'll need to know whether you can fit the electronic drive onto the earlier 'boxes in the first place.
The only way you can really proceed with this is to get hold of wiring diagrams for your car, and the MY00 ones. The warning lights should be pretty simple to work out, but the important bits are a bit more involved.

speedo was electric on early uk cars too..
it was just the wrx's that were cable drive.
it can be done if you are ok at wiring.. heater controls may be a problem, or fit later heater matrix / fan unit to sort that Issue.
Ill do it if you supply the parts for £1k.. will do it in a weekend

is that what you would charge for fitting or for parts if this is for fitting then ill try it myself! if this is for the parts alone then I can get them alot cheaper from a lad in bradford source is a secret... but could be persuaded if any one else wanted to pay half that amount above.
