... and it seems that the drivetrain forum is deserted...

i am real urgent for this, its the last few bits stopping me fire the beast up, and today is about the only day i really got time to do it..

i need to know the following...

first, and trivial, thing - There is a metal pipe (black) that runs across the bulkhead from the brake master cylinder. where does it join to??

second thing - there are three plugs on the WRX that extend from the bulkhead over the top of the box. theres a single wire plug, a 3 wire black and a 3 wire grey. Where do these go??

Also, does anyone know what vacume pipes do what on an STi3 engine??

I am desperate here, real desperate.

Mods, instead of moving this post could you give me a couple of hours first please, pretty please, with sugar on top????????

i love you all!!!

Thumbs up

I'd suggest the one accross the bulkead would be the vacuum for the servo, should go to the inlet manifold.

The wires could be the reverse light and speed sensor, should be on the box.

Vac pipes, **** knows!

My tips would be to just waggel stuff about, see how far they reach and plug em in where ever they fit untill it runs

not much help unless you have another car or possibly a haynes manual - they do do impreza ones

as for the vac hoses, i tried to check mine to see if one had come off, there are miles of the things all going into scary looking solenoids!

not wanting to sound cocky as i don't know you situation, i mark all the hoses and clips with masking tape and a descrition when i take them off otherwise it goes pear shaped!!

i would have done that, but this is a slightly different situation..

originally the WRX lump went pop, so i replaced it. later found out the replacment was a legacy lump, so i sent it back and got offered an STi lump, so me being foolish said yes. They are identical blocks, but require a fair bit of mechanical skill (im just about coping and without blowing me own trumpet im a fairly competent mechainc). as an STi lump didnt come out i couldnt mark things...

this should help...

It is not the reverse light switch, thats a definite as its connected. I belve the single wire is the crank position sensor. other than that i still have the knock sensor to plug in.

If anyone has got any good pics of this area and what they plug into it would be perfect...
