Hi,

probably a very stupid question but just how different is a standard MY01 vs. STI v7 ? I only recently got my standard MY01 WRX, have pushed it quite hard and got it to scream on the odd occassion

I used to have a Sports but sometyimes feel the handling on that was better than the WRX. COuld be the sh*t Avon tyres !!!

I kno i should be happy with wat I've got but I feel like I'm missing out on something more offered by the STI.

Can a MY01 with good tyres, full decat exhaust etc ever be as good as an STI ? Both cars are different but I ultimately want an STI but if I can get some decent performance extracted from my WRX then I'll be happier

Also - what kind of performance can I expect from a well modified MY01 ?

Tek 3 and full de-cat on my 2001 should be good for 280bhp, see ScoobySport website.

I had my MY01 PPP'd 2 weeks ago haven't stopped smiling yet. It has totally transofmed the car. It has unbelievable torque compared to standard.

Well worth the 1600 - takes the performance to somewher near the STI - Avons? - Bridgestones at least mate!

I sometimes wish that I'd held out for an STI, especially the price that some of the 7's are now going for.

With the money I've spent on my WRX I could have has an STI by now But then all the mods I've got on my WRX I would have wanted on the STI also

my 01 WRX is an arm and a leg slower than my MY96 was, and I don't have the money for PPP

Still, its nice to drive

Power Engineering gave my MY01 WRX the Ecutek treatment yesterday,
already had a full de-cat. Recorded 274bhp/265lbs of torque. Very impressed with performance now!!!
