Question

2 months of ownership of a brand new Scooby and... already 2 dents in the passanger side doors because some w*nkers can't be more careful when getting out of their cars in the car park!

I noticed that most cars have rubber or plastic protectors fitted on both sides. But not the Scooby.

I am interested how you people deal with this problem. Any practical advice greatly appreciated (locking the car in a garage is not an option )

Cheers!

You can buy rather smart side strips for the Impreza from most dealers. I had them on my 5 door and they looked quite cool.

As a side benefit, they stop you whacking the door into the garage wall when you get out of the car.

IMHO the side protectors look ok on dark colours but not light

Hope you have DBM

Yes, DBM it is.

What colour are the protectors?

Can they be colour coded?

Here's an idea that came to me whilst waiting for my takeaway the other night. If like me you don't like the look of the side rubbing strips, how about some strips of pipe-lagging held on with small magnets that you put on when you leave the car and take off again when you return? Probably a bit of a faff if your in and out of different car parks all day but if you only use a car park a few times a week then I reckon they could be useful.
It would also look a bit stupid but its got to be better than dented doors.
I haven't tried it yet but I'll let you know if it works!

doc,
i've had the door strips fitted on my RSM and i think they set it well, also hopefully limit the carpark dings, only had the car a week can't wait to use the bit of rev counter past 4k.

Ray,
How much were they?
Did the dealer get and fit them for you?
