Red face

.....because everytime I visit I read stories about people loving the rush their Scooby gives which encourages me to floor mine - despite me promising myself I'll go easy on the petrol

ON a side note, any pictures of modified My01 WRX's ? Particularly those with mesh grill / lip spoiler etc. - cheap and cheerful mods preferred

Thanks !

Jai

Cool

I know what you mean! I was determined the other day to take it easy on a long trip to West Wales, to see what mpg I could get.

I ended up in the outside lane at a steady 90mph. Still, got 360 miles out of the tank, which worked out at 31.5.

That's about as good as it gets I suppose.

I do try to drive mine like a Citroen AX sometimes, but never manage it for more than 100 yards!

Lol !

No matter how little I plant the right foot I can't seem to get more than about 21mpg - equates to about 130-140 miles on £20 - does that seem right to you ?

I think the next mod for me will be installing my own personal petrol station at home

31.5mpg from an Impreza?

It must be a sport surely.

Ali,

No, it's a MY99 Turbo with 50,000 on the clock. The dealership did seem quite impressed...they reckoned that 21.5 would have been more typical, although I do seem to remember them telling me that I'd get 35 out of it before a handed over the readies!!

I tried an experiment a while back of not going over 3000rpm for a tank to see what mpg I could get and guess what.....

....I kept to it for a while then found myself nailing it down a nice twisty country road

Still haven't managed more that an average of 22mpg for a tank full.

Bloody hell that is impressive.

None of the two Impreza's i ever had returned more than 24mpg tops.

Must be my lead lined feet that stopped me getting anything like that.

Not a problem i have now as i have diesel and get 40mpg on a bad week and 47-48 on a good one.
