Question

If not then who else has the SETI software and thinks it is a good idea?

Iv been running it very casual for a while.

here are my stats

http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/fcgi-bin/fcgi?email=i80386@hotmail.com&cmd=user_stats_new

(the scoobynet BBS Code Syntax link dont seem to be working, i could easily make it clicky in HTML, but it says its not allowed ?)

I used to run it 24/7 on 3 of my computers that i have at home. The noise of the CPU fans / HDDs running all the time got a bit much though (i live in a bungalow).

Now i only run it when im actually using my computers. I currently have a P4 2.533 GHz and an AMD Athlon XP 2400+ both running it, but like i say - only when im actually here.

Iv never been part of SETI group, but if there are a few Scooby owners who would like to, then im up for it.

Andy

There a United Devices group - at www.grid.org - called "Impreza WWW Owners Club"

Haven't looked until I saw this thread - I've contributed 89 days CPU time and the group has done just over 271 years

what you need to do to make a web link clickable is put "url" before and "/url" after it. Note though the " " in each case must be replace with [ ]

Can can also put your own text in but doing

"url=www.scoobynet.co.uk"this is scoobnet"/url"

when you replace the " " with [ ] you get this

this is scoobnet

Easy

As Martin mentioned there are quite a few Impreza owners from Scoobynet, IWOC, I-Club, and the Dutch Impreza Owners Clubs contributing CPU time to cancer research on the Oxford University/ IBM Life Sciences project. I had also forgot the program was running on this PC until he mentioned it.

http://www.grid.org/services/teams/t...F-F7E54398A3C2 is the place to find further info.

368 owners contributing with 271 years 97 days 22 hours of CPU processing time. We're also 41st in the World league for CPU time and 35th on number of results returned.

Regards

Steve

Wahey, what a grand idea!

Ive been doing Seti for about 3 years and have my very own 'farm' at home crunching away at the workunits!

By the way, that is a very quick average WU time i80386!
You must have some rapid machines chomping away!

I think I'll take a punt and say, I'd probably be in the number one position if I joined!
Im also 3rd overall in the IOM!
My stats here...
Killer Stats

Pity its all due to come to an end soon though

Quote "I would guess he is running the command line version to get those speeds..."

So am I, but only using old sheds that would normally have been destined for the bin!
Am currently running SETI on a total of 9 machines (6 of them at home!) also have occasional help from a mates PC too.

And Jon, no they havent found ET yet (unfortunately) but yes they are desperately running out of funds, and are at present uploading old WU's that have already been checked.
I think theyve almost used up all the resources needed before going onto checking another section of the sky, and rumours are abound that theyre likely t ocall it a day in the near future...

But I'll keep on plugging away till it ends!

Wellcome aboard i80386, JonS and bigsinky. Oh can't forget the mystery person!

Typical, I set the group up and have second to bottom WU completed! lol In my defence, only have one PC that I use a few hours a day.

Wow, this sure sounds like fun, I'll have to see if I can spare a few machine cycles and help in the search for little green men.

where do I sign up?
