I'm fuming from all this Tony Martin stuff, and now I hear something like this!
I hope they didn't pull a leg muscle as they clambered over the doorstep, or snag their jacket on the door latch - they'll be suing if they did.
A 12 bore (in the back) would have sorted them out...

Guys and gals. Thought I'd let you know the full story (so far).
I was in the house along with my Dad. I was upstairs, and he was in the kitchen when someone burst in through the back door demanding the keys. They ran past him into the front room and grabbed the keys from where I'd just left them. They went out the back, got in the car. By this time, I'm back downstairs and outside but they've locked the car doors. I tried to break a window to get at them, but they just reversed at speed along the drive, damaging the left side of the car (and partly demolishing a wall). I wasn't stupid enough to stand in their way, but did try and break the drivers window to get at them. It didn't break, and they drove off at speed.
Two lads took it, and possibly three others (two girls?) according to one of the neighbours.
Reported to the police so they're keeping an eye out for it.
Fortunately, they didn't harm my Dad, but he's understandably a bit shaken (he's an 80-year old man ffs!).
To their credit, the police were round here within 15 minutes, and then almost immediately went off again when one of the other neighbours came round and said it'd just been seen on the next estate.
To say that I'm annoyed is a bit of an understatement (doubly so as I'd just finished cleaning it ready for the NBO trip tomorrow) and I guess all they'll get even if caught is a slap on the wrist.

Im with Gary (above), if there is recovery and/or identification,
Accidentally post it on a certain Impreza website and some *bigger boys* will pay a visit up north.
Its hard to run to mummy with two broken knees....
the justice in this country is very lacking in certain areas!!!
Andy.....
BIG PS.. The police are not law makers, they are law enforcers..(big difference)_ their hands are tied by parliament, it is government who make the law. the police are not to blame and indeed there are many, many officers (I can only speak for those who I am friends with) who think that the system stinks also.
with regard to the f*ckin Pykie who got shot robbing the house in Norwich, do you think that if we had robbed a pykie`s caravan that it would have gone to court.. B8LLOCKS it would, youd have been shot dead in the back (coward scum, always hunt in numbers). Take up arms against your oppressors, let the pykie w4nkers know that we can administer justice of our own, if you shoot the son, and they prosecute, shoot the f*cking dad next, then his brother.
The last point is that I am taliking about NO GOOD F*CKIN PYKIES, not the romany gypsies who are part of the heritage of our country.
Irish tinker... My ****1n ****. See you in hell ****(ill save you a seat).

I agree, it's the justice system in this country that's wrong. Like I said, if caught all these thieving vermin will get is some sort of slap on the wrist from some magistrate who has no idea what it actually feels like to have someone come uninvited into your home (where you are supposed to feel safe), then run off with your pride and joy that you have spent years earning money (and being taxed for the privilege) to pay for. An as for the excuse 'you've got insurance aint ya' - it'll take a while for any money to come through (assuming I don't get the car back) thus inconveniencing me badly (if I get another car in the meantime, I'll have to pay for it out of my pocket), and then there's the extra money I'll have to pay for increased premiums etc. And I'll now have to be even more careful about security now - bear in mind the car was locked while it was sat outside on the drive.
Note to President Bliar here - Take your rose-coloured specs off, forget about sucking up to your cronies in Europe, and DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE COUNTRY YOU WERE ELECTED TO GOVERN.

Cheers fo all the replies people, and thanks for providing a shoulder to 'cry on'/sound off. At least both me and my Dad are still in one piece and healthy, and at the end of the day it's a piece of metal, but I'm still gonna miss it.
If I get any more news, I'll let you all know, but I have to say I'm not overly optimistic about seeing it in one piece again.

Tony,
Posted the details of the theft on the Alfa bbs as there are a few Notts/Derby lads.
Loads of sympathy from the Alfa lads as far a field as Belgium and Canada.
All agree the UK needs to sort this crime quickly.

Sorry to hear this Tony, not a lot i can add, i know what its like to have your property violated by scum and there is a lot more to it than just losing the car.
Hope your Dad isnt too shaken up, he must wonder what the hell happened to this country.

s***t Tony, glad to hear you and you're dad are ok.
This is happening far too often, just takes the edge off scoob ownership.
Don't know about the other parts, but Nottingham seems to be turning into scumville. The police should put a fence round the ba$...ds (lets face it they know who most of the culprits are) and let em shoot each other.
See ya m8,
Chris.

Hope both you and your dad are OK..... Shame you can't pay for a retribution system instead of a justice system
Glad no-one was hurt though.....
Stay safe dude

Be thankful you didn't break the window and get at them mate or you'd be looking at doing time now, that's always my fear if i ever caught scum trying to nick mine. Call me paranoid but i've just read this thread whilst upstairs having a beer with the music on full blast and my back door and patio wide open and my keys in the kitchen. Needless to say everything is now locked up and i got myself another beer whilst downstairs so job done. Hope you get your car back soon mate.

Sorry to hear about this but glad youre both OK (if a little shook up). Its the lack of any consequences to their actions that keeps these people doing these things, thats if they even get caught. Something needs to change or we're going to end up with a "vigilante" culture.
