Hi Guys

I have a MY03 STI PPP which has now been 3600 miles, the clutch smells like it is slipping when ever i use reverse with a few revs on ie backing up a bank. Our pull away forward in the same way. I'm not riding the clutch and the smell soon clears all the same it stinks.
Anybody else got this problem???????

had to pop into my local dealer yesterday and got chatting about the warranty on my dutch sourced EU MY03 WRX and he mentioned to me that clutches are the most common warranty claims on all new WRX's and Sti's.

Very common. My sons STi7 did it when new and his 8 also but not as bad. It should disappear eventually. There have been threads on this before.

My STI7 only 10mths old,done 18000,and is slipping already,what does anyone reckon on a claim for that any chance??

My STi8 stank under the same circumstances for the 1st 500 miles. It all good now though.

same thing he also gets a very funny smell from the engine bay when he has given the car some stick, probably all the fluids getting up to tempreture as well
