I get 35mpg on Shell NUL and 19mpg on Optimax.

Not both in the scoob though .

My other cars a Ford and is quieter, a lot more economical (as you can see) and the cd is much better and its totally standard so Pete would be happy . Shame its about 7 seconds slower to 60 really .

Question

I am really confused now, easy for an old todger like me I know!!

BUT how do you explain this?

Sainsbury's Super = 30mpg - yes, I know!!!!!

Esso Super = 26mpg - Good

Optimax = 22mpg - Not Good

NUL = 18mpg - and pinks like hell!!

I just don't get it - but its true!! What the hell do Sainsburys add to their Super Super??!!

I suspect that your test with NUL @ 18mpg was conducted in the winter, when the added weight of your triple layer driving gloves, fur lined boots, 4 string vests, sensible coat with matching cap & bucket of Fishermans Friends adversely affected the result.

Isn't it obvious?

Your car just doesn't like Sainsburys petrol, so it doesn't drink it as fast. The additives must make it taste funny.

Just look at how happy it is drinking NUL. It's pinking because it's happy

Shoud not have bought an Import
There is a rumour that gold wheels are infact more fuel efficeint.

Seriously though my uk MY99 ran better and did around 2-3MPG more on SUL or Optimax, never noticed a difference between makes.

I get on average (work commuting) about 28-29mpg, no matter where I buy my petrol from

But I guess its cos I got Gold Wheels, that lets me get 30mpg on trips to London on Optimax

Question

Surely someone else notices this??

It definately happens - Tesco NUL is like poison to my car, not only the Scooby but my Calibra also .... whilst my old Sierras and Primera GT's ran fine on it!!??

This isnt a Lewis joke .... soomeone, somewhere, speak out - its happened to YOU too hasnt it!?

Righty ho.
UK MY99, (rent boy gold 17`s).
£42 approx for SUL to fill, what is the mileage I should be expecting from it?
Ive had the car 5 days and so far for £72, ive done (gulp) 340miles. although ive got 1/4 ish tank left.
Those standing starts are thirsty work for us both.
Andy.....(hoping that the novelty WILL wear off and the garage owner WONT retire on my right foot antics).....

Question

And just WHEN does it REALLY matter to life and the universe that you get to 60 that 7 seconds faster??? Can't you see that its just a way of making up for inadequacies in your life?!

Exactly Pete I agree it doesnt matter I was merely pointing out that the scoob is quicker than the Ford but with the same weight and 3 times the power thats hardly suprising . I like both cars in their own ways. You more than anyone should understand that one car cant do all jobs .

I don't know why,but I really enjoy the outstanding acceleration and roadholding of this car. Must be why I bought it,it wasn't as a status symbol anyway.
