My dealer has just sent me a letter stating that my STi7 is due for its first bodywork service (Cost £130+vat). Further inspections are due at 3 and 5 years old.
What does this service comprise and is it really worth it? Has anyone ever managed to claim successfully on the bodywork warranty?

From what I can gather from previous body services, they usually wash it and cover the underside with smelly stuff!
You may be lucky to break even on the resale value from the service history point of view, but only if the customer is aware that the body service is required!

The underseal started to fall off my Sti7 within six months. Got the dealer to reapply under warranty.
I now inspect it regularly and will treat it if necessary.

I didn't bother with mine - at the time I didn't think it was worth, new cars don't rust and all that
I now have two small blisters on the bonnet , which if I'd had the service done I could have claimed for. Hey ho

Got the note - had mine done - price sounds similar.
They injected a waxy/protection into various injection points on the STi7.
It's personal opinion as to whether it's worth it but I figure having got the car from new it was worth it to keep the warranty.
BTW - wash the car as soon as you can afterwards if you get it done. There tends to be some residue on the body work (especially at the back) which is a bugger to remove if you leave it on for any length of time....

Right had a price from SGT its about £168,plus two more one of £198 and £175.The time to do the job ranges from 2hours to need the car all day, so shop around.I think its all part of the great scooby rip off,but we all knew that
