Just had our second baby and although my MY00 4 door had enough room with 1 kid, 2 means that there is evern less space now.so...i need recommendations on top boxes.also as a side question, my warranty ran out on 8th this month. how do i go about extending it and rough ide of cost would be helpful. thx in advance

re the warranty - you should have had a letter from Subaru UK before yours ran out. I would get in touch with your dealer asap. I cant remember exactly how much it is but you can extend for 1 or 2 years, with various mileage options. I think 2 years is approx £400 but may be wrong.
Not sure about the top boxes. I enquired a while back at my local dealer and they basically told me not to bother as the rails are a real pain to fit/remove. I was a bit surprised to hear this as I was keen to give them some of my money! Would be interested to see what other people think.

I changed my MY99 4 door to an MY00 wagon in order to accommodate one child and two dogs ....and it has roof rails as standard......

We seem to have two threads on this, but to answer a question here

My dealer told me the Subaru top box is *rap and to get a Saab one. I opted for Thule after reading some reviews.

As for the mounting rails the Legacy ones are a clever quick release system that take less than 1 minute to fit all round and haven't damaged the paint during the three years I have been using them.

thx for the replies. so to confirm
subaru top box crap.thule better and available in halfords etc etc

subaru warranty. never got the letter but can extend it for approx 400 notes for 1-2 years.
